Fantastic value for money

I installed these on my Yamaha AR240 boat to replace stock speakers. I am shocked by both the sound quality and volume. I was ready to embark on a complete overhaul of my system, but now it was out of the question. There is no need to. I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Negative impression

Not identical to old batch

I bought this to replace the exact same model because the hole fits this speaker exactly. That's less than 6 1/2" since the real 6 1/2" speakers I ordered and returned don't fit in the small hole. The back of the replacement is slightly different and about 1/8 larger in diameter so now I have to cut a hole to fit it. You can't win because sometimes you lose.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Not all will fit

excellent performance! (A+) 100% recommended. Freshly installed on an uprated Marine Boss jet ski, these Alpine SPS-M60s deliver exceptional and crystal clear sound. The power range is between 2 and 35 W RMS (110 W peak power). If you're running over 35W RMS make sure you have a crossover to cut off excessive bass for the best performance on those alpine coasters.

Pros
  • great product
Cons
  • all right

Great speaker - and an improvement over the previous model!

BIG speakers for the price and size. I don't have an amp on my boat but these things play great sound straight out of the main unit even if you turn them around. I previously had the same Alpine speakers that sounded just as good, but the grille was a snap-on cover and not attached to the speaker with screws. Over time, the repeated removal of the grilles caused the speaker edge mounting holes to crack and eventually fail, leaving me with speakers nearly falling out of the holes in the…

  • Solid build

  • Problem

Finally the sound I wanted!

22ft bowrider with old Alpine MRV-F505 v-12 Expert 4-channel amplifier and new Alpine MRV-M500 mono subwoofer. Sony Marine MEXM70BT Head Unit. 2 SPS-M601 in the bow and 2 SPS-M601 in the middle of the boat, plus 2 SPR-M700 in the stern of the boat and a 10" SWR-M100 Alpine SUB in the ski compartment. Alone the m700s produce a very rich and full sound. Once I adjusted the gain of the amp so the 601 could handle the same volume levels as the 701 the 601 was a real asset.Adding speakers to the bow

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
