I was wary of some reviews but didn't really want to spend a lot of money on something that should be that simple. I am using this for a laptop that only has 1 USB port on the dock. Center. When I first got this USB hub it seemed to work fine. But after a while I noticed that from time to time it disconnected and reconnected all attached peripherals. It's not bad for mice and keyboards, but disastrous for external hard drives, which is what I've used it for. Maybe I just got a defective unit, but I wouldn't buy this one again.

When I start my Mac it intermittently disconnects from USB and my mouse/keyboard doesn't work until I unplug this thing and plug it back in. Something isn't quite kosher about this thing, and I'm looking for a replacement. Beware.
