Well done. for hubs

I was wary of some reviews but didn't really want to spend a lot of money on something that should be that simple. I am using this for a laptop that only has 1 USB port on the dock. Center. All peripherals are connected to it and everything works fine for 2-3 months. Inexpensive and has worked flawlessly so far.

  • Positive only
Cons
  • No

Nice little hub in networking products

Soon I had to glue the hub together. Not too well done. Accordingly, I am lowering my rating. Here's my original post: This hub works great! It's cheap, small and has a simple plug'n'play installation. I needed a self-powered hub for my WD external hard drive and it worked (the hubs on my Dell Inspiron 5100 laptop didn't have enough power to run the hard drive). Just note that the USB cable is very short. For anyone with laptops, this shouldn't be a problem. My old hub (before it died) sat in…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Makes me nervous

disconnects and reconnects intermittently

When I first got this USB hub it seemed to work fine. But after a while I noticed that from time to time it disconnected and reconnected all attached peripherals. It's not bad for mice and keyboards, but disastrous for external hard drives, which is what I've used it for. Maybe I just got a defective unit, but I wouldn't buy this one again.

Pros
  • Nice build
Cons
  • Not as thick as other tips

Useless design Best in Computers & Accessories

When I ordered it 6 days ago there was only one review and it was 5 stars. If I had waited I would have already known that the cord was too short to use. Even on my laptop. Because of the other cables that are next to the USB sockets, this would be a real problem. It comes with a 1 inch cable with a USB connector. The cable tucks neatly into the bottom of the hub when not in use. During use you have no choice where to place the hub as the cable is so short. I was hoping for a USB AB cable so I…

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Lightweight and compact in hubs

Pros: Very small footprint, lightweight, very compact for travel (you can attach the USB connector to the hub yourself) Cons: The connector cable is too short: If you use it in a laptop that's in a frame or in a docking station, the hub will hang in the air because the cable is too short; Also, there's only one connection indicator, so if one of your USB devices fails, you won't immediately know if it's a connection issue. But I think it's a good buy for the price. In addition, the built-in…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Could have gone for a newer model

Keeps disconnecting

When I start my Mac it intermittently disconnects from USB and my mouse/keyboard doesn't work until I unplug this thing and plug it back in. Something isn't quite kosher about this thing, and I'm looking for a replacement. Beware.

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • OK
