$150 Perfect printer

The review you've all been waiting for. After struggling with this filament for 24 hours, I achieved a flawless print on my $150 3D printer. As? Persistence. I spent 10 hours fiddling with my printer, cleaning debris coming out, replacing a clogged nozzle, and swapping out magnetic pads. But like any good 3D printer lover, I was determined to make it work. First, there are some key differences between PETG and PLA. The most important thing to note for this thread is that you need to set the bed

Poorly sealed and poorly packaged

I bought a pack of 5 to make face shields for the Covid-19 pandemic. Good price, super fast shipping (even with blocking) and nice colors but that's what I like about this thread. It first came in plastic shrink wrap rather than vacuum sealed bags like most filament, even at this price point. It's okay, I have a filament dryer (food dehydrator) but it's still annoying because it means I can switch from shipping to printing. I had to wait several hours to dry the first coil. To get an idea of…

Poor quality threads, but usable nonetheless.

Tl;Dr: It works, but don't expect easy, great, or consistent printing. I don't think I will buy this again unless there are better yarns in stock. I've also listed my temperatures and settings below. Let's start with the packaging: the description says the thread comes in a resealable bag, which is correct. It comes in a vacuum plastic case that was so thin I could poke in it and break it. In fact, the plastic was so thin it had dozens of holes in it. PETG is not as prone to moisture absorption

Pros
  • Very Good Value
Cons
  • Unbelievable Price
