I drilled the holes a little smaller than the instructions recommended as I didn't have a 23/64 bit so I used a 5/16 bit. The hole was too big for the supplied dowels. As I proceeded to install with the screws they pushed the anchors into the wall and now I have 4 anchors stuck in the wall and I can't get them out. We bought these corner shelves because they look good and are good value. The shelves themselves are quite sturdy and look like a quality product. The only downside here are the tiny screws that attach the brackets to the shelf. They are practically useless and come out very easily. I recommend not using tiny screws and using longer ones instead. Otherwise, when you tighten the shelf, the screws will come out, tearing the wood with you.
