🚚 AMP Research 75412-01A BedStep2: The Perfect Retractable Truck Bed Side Step for 2015-2018 Ford F-150 with 5.5' Bed, Black (Large Size) Review

Love being able to install the step yourself after it's installed. My oversized tires (32 inch) would rub on the step if it had to be mounted in the middle. The required foot pressure is easy to lower and raise the step. NO need to use your hand.

Guess it's my fault but I was expecting a pair although I should have known better when I compare the price to the OEM. Unfortunately they are in reserve, so I can't even order a second one at the moment. Other than that it works great, installation went well and should help a lot with self loading my 12ft kayaks.

The product was very easy to install, the only difficulty was tightening the screws once the device was basically installed. I had to manipulate different nozzles and wrenches to get the bolts properly tightened. Very strong - only minor issue is that it's difficult to lower, you have to reach inside the wheel arch to open it. Two installed, one on each side and so far very satisfied!

Instructions for driver's side only. The instructions for the passenger are extremely vague, mostly completely useless. There are simply no drawings. The description of the device and the installation location are useless. There should be two separate, clear and descriptive instructions: one for driver's side installation and one for passenger side installation.

I found the instructions terrible. The parts aren't properly identified, so guess which screws to use. I had to skip steps to assemble the most likely pieces and then add other pieces in the elimination process. The extra thick piece that the instructions say is needed for a 6.5ft bed was wrong. The step itself works great without the spacer which only fits a 5.5ft bed. I didn't pay another $20 for the brace that was originally supposed to come with the kit. This review is for model 75412-01A of a 2019 Ford F-150. Conclusion: All in all, once installed, this is a great product. I couldn't be happier. I have two on each side to help me reach the trunk on my topper on my 2018 F-150 6 berth, 5. During my research it wasn't clear if this would fit on an F-150 with a 6.5 bed. The AMP installation guide (as of November 2018) shows that it only fits the 5.5 (short) bed F-150.
