I prefer this system over more expensive and overrated systems like Nest or Ring because: 1. OWN MY DATA. All surveillance data of my camera is stored in the device which is in my house.2. For those who do not know. For Power over Ethernet (POE) cameras, you will need to run some Category 6 cables (supplied) from the camera to the recorder. I have included the tools and additional materials required for this in the attached pictures. I decided to cut the RJ-45 connectors off the ethernet cables to make them easier to route through walls, and then used a crimping tool (pictured) to attach the new connectors.
