Great antenna upgrade

My original factory antenna was bent during a car wash. I found this online and it seemed like a good replacement for an upgrade. The installation only took a few minutes. So far there hasn't been any drop in reception, and things look much better when charging. I'm a happy customer.

Works well and looks good!

Works great! The radio is still as clear as with the factory antenna. My main reason for buying this antenna is that the antenna mast on the Gen 2 Tachami can break if you hit the factory whip antenna off-road or get caught in an automatic car wash roller. As a collision specialist, I have replaced the mast on several Takomas due to an anchoring issue. So I decided to prevent this problem with this part.

Get THIS (look for the antenna icon)

in the driveway compared to the original OEM. There are 42 FM stations in total. This IGNORES any border stations you would never set up. I have 22 out of 26 good stations. Since I can only tune to 15 and I don't listen to much FM, that's more than I need. (Satellite). I don't have AM radio. All of them are based on HD FM. If people really break them in the car wash, they're doing something wrong. It was only $5 more than the last short (of several) I returned because, like most, it received a…

Great replacement for the stock antenna

I wanted to update the look of my '06 Tacoma and replacing the stock phone pole antenna (<- exaggeration) was the final step in the process. I chose this short antenna because it advertised no loss of reception in both the VHF and AM bands. It also withstands a car wash without having to be disassembled. I wasn't disappointed at all! The quickly and easily installed antenna definitely complemented the more aggressive look of my truck. Radio stations still sound loud and clear. Overall very…

Buy it! Works perfectly! Looks great!

I originally bought a short TEKK antenna but the bottom broke after just a day on my truck so I returned it. I also couldn't get the Tekk to straighten because the top is sloped. I chose this one because the company is based in the US and has good reviews. This antenna with source antenna was very easy to install. It looks good and feels tough. My stations are getting better and I even get a Vegas station and I'm 2 hours away. I'm glad I bought this one. The Tekk antenna looks a bit wobbly…

Pros
  • Fits many
Cons
  • A long time ago

Good quality small antenna. It fits perfectly on my 1999 Toyota Tacoma SR5 2WD. Now I can walk through the car wash with confidence and don't have to lug a wrench in the glove box to remove the old wire antenna before washing. The reception of the weaker stations on my radio is slightly (only slightly) worse. If I were driving from SOCAL through the desert to Phoenix or north into the mountains, I would turn the stock antenna back on for that. But in fully urban/suburban areas where you listen…

Pros
  • Good workmanship
Cons
  • Almost OK

Seems real, gathers all the Tacoma brothers in the yard

To be honest I almost never listen to the radio. So it wasn't difficult to get rid of chronically loose old-school antennas that would just crash into the garage door and have to be tightened every few months. Not to mention it gives my truck 7hp. So I see it as a plus. But man, radio really leaves a lot to be desired these days. I mean what happened to real DJs and decent radio shows? Haha.

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Very expensive

Works just as well as my 2009 Tacoma antenna.

I broke a factory antenna when I forgot to take it off at the car wash. That's the main reason why I wanted to replace the factory antenna with a smaller flexible one. So far it works great. I turned on the radio and checked the 3 channels I'm listening to, reception was normal. 2 channels were good but the 3rd was bad (it gets better depending on where you are, time of day etc). When removing the standard antenna, 2 channels fell out almost completely, and the 3rd completely out. After I…

MastRus antenna sound performance exceeded my expectations

My previous antenna fell off at my local car wash. It was a non-original antenna that worked about the same as the Toyota (Tacoma-Auto) OEM antenna. Installation was easy. Align the antenna mount threads perfectly. It's easy to cuddle. Tools are not required. An o-ring would probably be useful, but I installed the MastRus antenna without one. The BIG surprise was when I turned on the radio for the first time after installation. I mainly listen to music on FM radio and standard radio sounded…
