Unfortunately, the birds remain silent. But at least they don't seem to attack near butterflies now (at least a few feet away, and there's a feeding station very close by). FWIW, I still use a window wiper and it works great.

It was better than expected. First, it is beautifully designed and doesn't make an eyesore on the window at all. More importantly, they even worked with a window sticker and I had no bird contact while they were up. Easy to remove and restore for next spring. Excellent quality.

I ordered these anti-collision window latches because I have a large bay window in my dining room. I have lost 3 birds in the last month due to birds crashing through a window. My backyard is very wooded and the birds probably thought the window was a passageway. These hairpins are very beautiful, there are 8 pieces in 4 different colors in the pack. We've had a lot of window smashes this year (5 or 10 a day) and it pained me to see all the carnage. So I just taped them to the sliding glass door closest to the feeder and didn't hear a knock today. Very easy to apply and the butterflies do a great job of catching the sunlight. Edit: It's cloudy today and that seems to have changed the reflections. 15 or more collisions in the last 3 hours - although they don't seem that big.

Although the butterflies on our sliding glass door in the basement looked pretty, that didn't stop the neighbor's cardinal bird 100% from crashing into the door. First it worked, then not. In the morning the bird came, sat on our patio table, stared at its reflection, thinking it was another bird on its territory and attacked itself. He will do this repeatedly.
