Great radio - not part 90 certified

Advertised part 90 certified but FCC record does not match identification number on radio. Seller does not respond to this issue - I think this provides an answer. The radio itself works very well so far, the programming software is hard to come by and gives some malware warnings but works well and the included programming cable connects to Windows 10 (25w) fairly accurately, but it's also very compact, the color display is nice, built-in speaker is good, programmable function keys on the…

Really like this radio

Installed this on my truck almost two months ago and love it. It's small (which is what I wanted), but don't let that put you off. This is a fantastic and inexpensive radio for my needs. I use it for 2m/70cm and have not been disappointed. Used with a Nagoya UT-72 magnetic antenna on the roof of a truck. The speaker is loud enough. Extremely easy to program by downloading from Anytone. I wasn't happy with the hook on the mic, so I replaced it with a universal (standard) mic knob. The only thing

Excellent transceiver

This radio ticks all the boxes. This is my third 2m/70cm rig I've bought in the last year and by far the best. The only downside is that the manual doesn't describe the shortcuts for the custom function key options. Searching for them on the Internet yielded no results. At some point I dealt with them. These are: A/B Switch main display from A or BV/M Switch from VFO to memory channel SQL SquelchVOL Volume levelPOW Power levelCDT Control type ToneREV Invert Transmit and receive frequency…

Excellent radio receiver kit with programming cable.

This is a very good deal, a programming cable for the same price as other radios only for sale. The only problem is that it doesn't come with software and instructions on how to get it. Save yourself the search and go to anytone.net and you will find version 2.0 in the download area. Googling will never take you to this page and will take you to other older versions that don't work. However, the software turned out to be almost more difficult to program than just doing it manually. The manual…

Those on a budget can't go wrong with this radio.

Good radio, easy to program in software if you know what you are doing. Impressed with the display and audio output from the external speaker. The compact radio just blows my mind that all board level components are squeezed into a small package and really work just as well as it does. The quality of the microphone is acceptable within its limits and only time will tell how long all the microswitches it contains will continue to function properly. But you can buy a $30 backup mic from Revain to

Be aware of RF energy emitted from under the plastic housing cover.

So I took the top cover off and found it was plastic and any good radio amateur knows that plastic doesn't stop the HF from flying out of the case. So now you know how cheap this radio is. The case had to be all metal, even if the radio had to pay $5 more. I take some copper foil and line the lid with it. The search for software took a long time. The first software I got was for the exact name of the radio but it complained it was the wrong radio software. Then I searched all the websites for a

Good but some issues

I bought this radio to use as a base unit connected to a DC power supply. It connects to a TRAM 1477-B antenna about 20 feet away and is fed by the 50 foot section of the LMR-400. I've had reports of a clear and strong signal and decent reception. I think the reception would have been better if the surroundings weren't so bad. The device is small and has a nice design overall. The color LCD screen is bright, crisp, and mostly excellent (more on that below). The sound from the built-in speaker…
