Sushi Rice pH Meter

You get what you pay for and this product is worth it! Because of the quick delivery of the product and the quality of the packaging, you knew this pH meter would be reliable. I did the calibration and luckily the company is in Ohio. I met a company manager who helped me calibrate the pH meter. I was able to test the sushi rice without any problems. Also has a handy guide and support services to answer your questions. The service was excellent. Price is secondary when quality and service are…

Design flaws to test, measure and verify

I bought this meter to test the pH of peat moss, soil and compost. At first the device worked, but problems soon arose. problem one. Having done everything according to the instructions, the device quickly took more than a minute to register the smiley face indicator. It is not possible to keep the pH meter in the sample for more than a minute to get a reading. The second problem is that the plastic immediately surrounding the glass probe has 4 negative spaces that collect and hold the…

Jump to the spearhead. This is great for sourdough bakers.

I'm a baker and I have this probe to easily measure the pH of my starter cultures and doughs. Just stick the spear into the dough and you'll get instant and stable readings. Calibration is easy enough with the included buffers and instructions. It also compensates for pH based on temperature and displays that value as well, although that value is slower to stabilize (especially if you're used to Thermapen). But it doesn't matter. It also has a backlight for easy reading. Here are the cons of…

Apera pH meter PH60S

An essential tool for anyone involved in the preparation of salami, sausage, cheese and other fermented products. pH must be tested to ensure the products you make are safe to consume. The PH60S comes in a plastic carrying case with everything you need to calibrate and keep the instrument safe. It comes with a spearhead, essential for penetrating the foods you're testing. Apera has other gauges that work and are less expensive, but require the purchase of a spearhead, which costs an additional…
