Not bad heating, but keeping it submerged.

If you expose the reactor core, you have Chinese Syndrome. In other words, keep it submerged or it will likely fail like mine. I had a 5 gallon top fin with a built in filter on the back. The filter is clogged and the water level in the rear filter where the heater was stored has dropped. Heating out of order. There is a water line gauge on the heater and it's probably not the fault that it went out. It kept the water at 77F so it did the job well, maybe too well as I prefer 74 degrees for my…

this one is undeniably the best! Therefore

UPDATE: Still works great after 3 years! Having tried MANY small heaters, this one is by far the best! Here's why: -Very small - fits in my filter housing -Able to heat my 6 gallon aquarium -Automatic shut off when water level drops below heater (happened multiple times) -Reliable and capable of temperatures 10 degrees above the Ambient temperature maintenance Medium for my 6 gallon aquarium. I used it on my 6 gallon aquarium, it has a built in filter so it's actually in the filter housing and…

Works perfectly! - Fish & Aquatic Pets

EDIT: Three months later the unit stopped heating above 75 degrees. The average temperature in my house is 74°C, so I don't risk using this device in the winter months. I can feel very little heat coming from the heater when I put my hand on it in the tank. But I think it turns off too quickly. I was hesitant to buy it after reading the complaints that the temp hadn't risen above 74. But I decided to give it a try as it was still the top rated mini heater on the market. Luckily I wasn't…

Which preset is 77 degrees Fahrenheit? For real?

A little bit about me. I have 3 reef tanks and needed a nano heater for my daughter's 4G betta tank. My typical Colbat heater is a bit larger than I like, so I decided to try different options. Needless to say, I'm coming back to something I know to be accurate and work at a specific temperature. I've had this in the tank for 3 days and it has changed from 77 to 80.4. The room he is in was somewhere between 65 and 77 degrees. I have a large 10g reef tank near this room and with another heater…

Better than permanent heating

Most small tank heaters are unregulated, have no set temperature and are always on. They are designed to heat water, whatever it is, a few degrees above room temperature. These heaters allow the water temperature to fluctuate with room temperature, which can be difficult for some fish. If you buy such a heater and put it in a pool that is too small, you will overheat. It will not do its job in a tank that is too large. I was looking for the smallest heater I could get for a 1/2 gallon tank. I…

Great pre-installed nano heater!

After a long search for a good heater for my 2G aquarium for my rooster fish, I decided on this one. And let me say I made the right decision! It's very small (much smaller than I expected and great for my small tank), the construction is great, all black plastic so it's not easy to break, and it keeps the tank at 77-78F. There are no complaints at all and I'm glad I chose this one over some other brands. LONG OVERVIEW: When choosing a heater for a small tank, your options are limited…
