I bought three of these. One of them had apparently been modified so that the chain was only 2 inches long. Repackaged in a blue plastic bag, not paper like the other two. They should inspect their returns before throwing them away to buyers. Positive note, the other two I bought were ok, will work.

This is one of the strongest quality chain locks I have seen. With a milled and cast construction, rather than being stamped and stamped like other models, this chain lock is much more secure and definitely withstands an attempted break-in when tested. High quality and very easy installation. I added this to our back door after learning my two year old could open the deadbolt for added security. I couldn't use another lock because our door is framed. Received this after buying another lock which my little one broke after only 2 weeks. Let me tell you what the difference is between day and night. It's so strong and it gives me so much peace of mind knowing my little one can't open the door and break that chain like he did last time. I highly recommend it. The only thing I would say is that the chain is quite long and you can put your hand through the door and untie it. This is not a problem for me as I have this to keep my little one indoors
