Great support! on computers and accessories

I bought an Arducam for a project and I couldn't get it to work at first. I contacted their support team and they were very helpful. They worked patiently with me until I got it working. It's great to have a great team behind it.

Great product and even better support!

Excellent camera module. Using the sample code provided by ArduCAM, I received the images within minutes of unzipping them. The library is well written and easy to implement. When I needed help finding the right lens for my particular application, ArduCAM support (Lee) was able to help me with all my needs. After several emails back and forth, he just called me! It is difficult to find such devotion and courtesy. I cannot recommend this company and this product enough!

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • boring packaging

Difficult interface and little support

I tried to work with the vendor to find out why the camera module doesn't work with certain microcontrollers. Very little support was provided and I had to buy 5 different types of Arduino modules to finally prove to myself that their Arduino R3 reference board is the only one that communicates properly. In short; My company does not have unlimited time to fix interface specifics of this camera module :( Customer support and manufacturer documentation are useless.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Some little things

I bought my first 2 years ago and I really liked it. Initially I had some problems with users and the support team helped me quickly and patiently. I bought an ArdCam_ESP8266 wifi board to use but couldn't get it to work. After contacting support again, they found that my Rev B board was not compatible. I bought 2 more cameras of the current production and they work perfectly. Plan to use more of these in future projects.

Pros
  • Doesn't fit many
Cons
  • reliably

ESP8266 slow motion in computers and accessories

The camera itself works fine, but there are a few things to note, at least for use with the ESP8266.1. Use 5V although 3v3 is acceptable. I notice much better image quality at 5v.2. I could not upload the sketch with the camera connected. I need to unplug the 5V wire, upload the sketch, and then reconnect the wire on startup.3. Don't expect to get the full output speed described in the specs with a microcontroller. It takes almost 6 seconds to get a 5MP frame with ESP. (200k jpg) Overall a…

Great camera, with limitations

Now that I've been working on this for a while, it's time for a review. My reaction to this camera has gone from one star to the five I am giving it now. TLDR: The camera is great IF you take the time. /remote applications), it is easy to communicate with small microcontrollers and capture images with a resolution of at least 1600x1200. The camera documentation is complex but accessible. Libraries are not clean and not intended for beginners, and in some cases cause corruption themselves. The…

ArduCAM Mini_5MP_Plus

Update January 21, 2019 CPU intensive camera meets Arduino… mediocre results. After a few more weeks of testing, I have to give up my enthusiasm for the ArduCAM 5MP Plus camera module. While ArduCAM customer service gets an A for their efforts, they are primarily limited to getting the camera working with their host application and then have many excuses and few answers. Regarding the hardware, please understand that image processing requires a lot of processing power, and although ArduCAM…
