DO NOT SPEND MONEY

This is the worst modem I have ever bought. I used to have an ARRIS SGB-6400 modem and it worked fine with the Spectrum. Due to some electrical problems it stopped working and I bought this SGB-6700 model. The provider this time was Cox Communications. It worked fine for a few months, but when I tried to live stream YouTube, it didn't work. I thought it was my internet connection. Then I checked my friend's live stream and it worked fine. Not so good for MANY devices connected to it.

Right after I got it I looked at it and said it was faster than my OLD Aris. This is still true. But the more I added to this router, the worse it got. A total of about 24 devices are connected to it. Only 4 are wired. All others are wireless. My security camera system was constantly turning random cameras on and off. Sometimes it turned off the camera completely and didn't come back until I restarted the modem. Couldn't even ping the camera. However, after a reboot everything worked fine…

I bought this unit (white, SURFboard AC1600) when I switched from CenturyLink to Xfinity. As others have said, it worked great for a month or two and then I noticed a decrease in the quality of service. First I called Comcast to find out why my speed was 25% of what I paid for.
