The inspection team dropped the ball

When you put it on the crease, it is very noticeable that there is no contour support, like another sneaker.I tried to save it by I put a piece of lightweight cardboard inside but it doesn't work. I'm a fan of the brand

Go for Gel-Kayano 26, not 27.

These boots hurt my feet and wear out very quickly. I've had many different versions of the Gel-Kayano over the years and these are the worst I've ever had. I wish I had her back when I had the chance. Something is wrong in the toe area and the arch of the foot hurts. I've never had this with other versions of the Gel-Kayano, so I think the 27's have issues.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Slightly torn

ASICS has changed manufacturers!

I've been a fan of the ASICS Gel Kayano for a long time. I just bought a new model 27 after having a 25 and there is a significant difference in the fit and finish of the shoe. The shoes don't fit the same. My foot is narrow in width and my toes are pinched. Also, the laces are too short to tie properly! I noticed that my 25s were made in China and my 27s in Vietnam. ASICS has definitely changed manufacturers and the quality has suffered. Super disappointed.

Sore Toes! for men

I've been a regular customer of Asics Gel-Kayano for ten years. The 25 was fantastic, lasted me well over a year and felt great from the moment I put it on to the moment I took it off. Why bother with the formula? Walking and running are extremely important exercises to feel good. I skipped the 26th model and waited for the 27th. The 27's toe box is made of a cheap material that folds inward, digging into your big toes and causing blisters. The shoes look great, but if I'm going to spend a…

Best shoe I've ever owned - 6'3, 300 lbs Men's

A little over a month ago I was told my sugar was on the verge of diabetes. Since then I've reduced my sugar by an average of 60 and lost 30 pounds thanks to better diet and daily walks. For the first time in a long time I weighed less than 300 pounds. I also bought the first quality shoe I ever had, the men's Asics Gel Kayano 27. I always thought expensive shoes were a waste of time. Boy was I wrong. My calf and hamstring no longer hurt when walking and the shoes make me feel like I want to…

Cannot function or be worn for long periods of time.

have been a regular customer at asics for a few years and have had no problems. It was time to replace my Kayano 26 so I switched to the new Kayano 27. After 3 days of waiting they arrived. I wore them for 2 days before an irreversible crease formed in the toe area (see photo). With every step, that crease rubs HARD on the big toe. I asked to replace the edition of this particular shoe. Got it yesterday and it was actually worse. These shoes are terrible, especially for $160. That sucks! Then I

Curved Toe Box - Athletic

Two problems with these shoes. The first issue I uploaded pictures of shows a problem with the sock box. I usually wear size 12 shoes, but for running I have a size 12.5. The toe cap is so soft that it buckles in several places when walking or when pressure is applied. The creases are against the toes and cause a tremendous amount of irritation, which is not to be forgotten when running. I unfortunately forgot to do proper research as you will see there are dozens of images of this problem with

So very different

Me: 6ft 250lbs 3 miles a day / 5 days a week I have enjoyed running in the Kayano for many years. 27 made a BIG change to the line that (I suspect) gave me plantar fasciitis right away. Here are my three biggest takeaways: 1. (Pro) - Cushioning seems to be more than previous models. I liked it.2. (Cons) - Fit: Toe box is huge. I've always ordered 4E shoes down a half size and it's like a pool for my front feet. The lacing area at the top of the foot is smaller. I can't lace and tie my boots and

Great fit and function

I've been wearing ASICS shoes for over 30 years although they weren't exclusive. But even when I wore sneakers from other brands like Brooks, New Balance or Hoka, they had design issues that made me return to ASICS. To be clear, I'm not an elite runner, but I enjoy running. In the last ten years I have run several marathons, half marathons and 10 km. So shoes, fit, cushioning and durability are important to me. I didn't like the Kayano 25 and I'm thinking maybe the 23 and have gone for a…
