Often cropped out: Computers and Accessories

UPDATE: The company kindly refunded my money and told me to keep the product. I bought a new USB hub from another company and it works great with no connection issues. The company emailed me 6 times to change my rating from 3 stars. So here it is. Rating changed to one star. STOP BIDDING ME. The product had to be returned because it was defective. It works very well. It's easy to disconnect from my laptop's USB ports at the slightest touch or movement. I have tightened the USB connectors and…

Lighter/smaller than the previous generation

Love having 4 more USB ports! As you can see in the video, it's slightly smaller than another Atolla 4-port USB 3.0 hub I also own. They are both very portable. I connect them in series and get 7 ports and two charging ports.

Good USB 3.0 hub: portable and with charging port

This is a lightweight USB 3.0 hub that I can slip into my laptop bag without adding weight. It is nice that each USB 3.0 port has its own power switch. As mentioned in the description above, you have to press and hold the power button to turn off the port. My external USB 3.0 hard drive works as expected when using this hub.

This solved the immediate problem

Very happy with the active USB 3.0 hub. I had an issue with devices overloading USB ports and had to unplug the devices. I got locked out of my system. I was certain that I would have to take my system to a computer repair shop for an expensive repair. Searching YouTube I found a video where I have to wipe devices until I can access my system again. It worked but I had to get my devices back. When I found a self-powered USB 3.0 hub, it seemed like the solution to my problem. Adding a powered…

Works great Can turn each aux port on and off individually

Great price, great product! The cord is a bit short but it's built for travel so can't really complain. Can be powered from USB or a wall outlet, which is great for travel or a more permanent location. The only reason I gave it a 4/5 for the material is that it feels light (plastic) so not sure how well it will hold up over time but so far so good

Pros
  • Rugged finish
Cons
  • No paint required

Easy to set up and use.

Just what you need. It's as simple as plugging it into one outlet at a time, or you can plug it into a USB socket. I bought it to use with the Wii game system. We currently have four controllers that you insert a rechargeable battery into and charge. This charger requires a USB charger. The Wii only allows for one USB charging console as a removable hard drive is attached to it. This is also handy for charging spare controllers for the Nintendo Switch console. I love that it has a 2.4 amp fast…

All the features you will ever need in a USB 3.0 hub!

I've had an older Atolla USB 3.0 hub for the past 2 years and I liked how reliable it was. So I decided to buy this new model for work because it was free in exchange for an honest review. It arrived yesterday, well packaged and with power supply. Setup is pretty easy and the instructions are clear should you need them. I simply plugged the power adapter into the hub and a power outlet, then plugged the hub's USB cable into my desktop. That's all! I turned on my computer and it recognized…

  • Hubs
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for older people

I use it to connect redundant external hard drives to my computer and turn them off when not in use, but I don't have to unplug them. It's very compact and very, very light. It doesn't lay flat on a table as the attached cables raise it slightly. I used a few pieces of FunTak on the bottom to hold it firmly against the table - works great! Now I don't have to try to find a place to hold the hub by inserting or pulling cables. During setup, I accidentally pressed one of the power buttons for…
