This is a leather seal. Perfect for what I need.

Many of these filter sets come with a rubber gasket which is junk but this one had a leather gasket. This kit works very well.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons

Perfect fit for 2001 Ford Explorer with 5 speed automatic transmission

Perfect fit great quality. Some tips. First, make sure you have a 5-speed automatic transmission on the 2001 Ford Explorer. It does not fit the 4 speed model. Secondly. The night before installation, flatten the gasket and place a large phone book on top overnight. This makes installation much easier when flat.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • New competitors have arrived

Perfect fit for our 2000 Ford Ranger.

We bought this transmission filter to replace a badly clogged one on a pickup truck. We have a 2000 Ford Ranger with an extra cab and it fits our little truck perfectly. It's been installed for a couple of months and it's working great and no more sluggish shifting issues. This pickup has over 225,000 miles; so I was definitely ready for a new transmission filter.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Good quality. COME WITH O-RINGS!

While the product itself doesn't confuse me with the build quality (I'm pretty picky), overall it looks like a good filter and gives me peace of mind that I got a good product. The packaging arrived a little damaged (picture) but it's ok. It included a sealed filter, screw, pan gasket, and o-rings (some reviews say their kits didn't come with o-rings, others say they did. Mine did). Basically I am satisfied with the product.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Requires socket

Missing details, again.

Again missing parts from ATP. I last got it working when I bought an ATP kit using old filter o-rings. This time my kit did not include a transmission pan gasket. I didn't have time to get a gasket from an auto parts store and had to use RTV this morning to get my daily driver up and running. Aside from the missing parts, there was a scratch/dent on the large filter inlet. on the sealed surface. The parts are of normal quality and those who pack these items are either missing parts or the…

Filter and gasket fitted perfectly, no problems installing

Filter and gasket fitted perfectly, no problems installing. However, the quality of the seal is not good. The pad is made out of a paper-like material and can easily be torn apart if you're not careful. The original OEM gasket was made of a material similar to aluminum and was thick and strong. After yesterday's installation and tightening to specification there were no leaks. Not bad for the price but if you want a better quality gasket I would recommend an OEM gasket. I think I'll switch to…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Unbolted oil pan and no oil on the floor

I bought this for my 2003 Ranger, I installed a set of sockets and a round oil pan and crawled under my truck. I started at the front of the oil pan and took out all four bolts and placed my oil pan backwards. I only made one turn when working forward, each screw on each side got screw #2 two turns, #3 three turns, #4 four turns, starting backwards I turned a full turn, sideways I turned a full turn , until all the oil ran out when I removed all the bolts but the last of the four I lifted the…
