Very punchy, crisp highs and powerful bass. A decent buzz too. The mids are smooth and clean, with the upper mids being emphasized more than the lower mids. Great for most music, great for metal.

These are my first $400 headphones. I previously had m50x. I didn't think I could get anything better but I was wrong and absolutely amazing clarity is worth every penny

Excellent headphones. Comfortable to wear, light weight, durable replaceable cables and above all great sound. But I was just shocked when I received it from the courier. These headphones sound very odd and not entirely bad, they're quite warm and wide, the soundstage is fantastic for closed headphones but it's also a minor negative as the vocals sound too wide, The change Final Audio Sonorous III was a VERY strange experience. The instrumental separation is - usually - excellent and the bass is present and very smooth. These are warm sounding headphones and I imagine a lot of people will like them. My problem is that they compare a lot more to the Sony MDR-1AM2

Too bright with a lot of noise. The high frequencies on them can be piercing, and every time someone makes an "s" sound, it's like sandpaper in their ears. It's incredibly distracting and can strain your ears if you listen to them after an hour or so. Their bass is punchier than the Audio-Technicas, but still not powerful enough for bassheads. Their sound is wide, deep and atmospheric. (more so than the DT700, which is pretty good in the soundstage department). The timbre is a bit more organic and the tuning itself is typical of audio gear, slightly W-shaped I would say. For $650 headphones, the bass is slightly warm, vague, and muffled.
