Doesn't work with BMW

Only reads generic DTCs like any other much cheaper OBDII scanner but trying to access diagnostic scans 'for BMW' results in 'no connection' or 'vehicle won't supports". " The updated software on the manufacturer's website is corrupt and cannot be loaded into the instrument.

Excellent diagnostic scanner, does not code BMW BMS for new other battery

An excellent scanner. Easy to use and has many features. I bought it for a specific reason to program my BMW BMS so I can put a new battery in it. With this remote you can only tell your BMW that it has received a new battery with the same specifications as the one that was removed. If you replace a defective battery with a battery of a different type or specification. Your BMW requires coding and this remote control cannot.

Decent BMW scanner (7910)

I am both an owner and a certified BMW technician and was looking for a cheap scanner for home and work. Overall, my experience with the 7910 was good, but not great. Pros: Fast and accurate fault code reading compared to ISTA. Inexpensive. Simple menu layout. Cons: Difficult to update firmware (needs to use Windows 10 virtual machine for it to work) Update tool not available for Mac. It has no internal battery in case of power failure.

Worked on my BMW E70! Cleared codes, registered battery change. Must be!

it had to be "programmed"! I said no and bought it. The battery was $195 at NAPA and the new battery registered with no problems. Has paid for itself many times over. My wife has E70 X5 35d. He suffered from annoying check engine lights all his life. This thing read codes and erased them. This is a must if you are sadly stuck with BMWs and their constant errors/codes and trying to return the car to the dealership all the time.

It's good. But it definitely could have been better.

The unit reads codes and clears codes as needed, but when I perform basic "special functions" I keep getting communication errors or "Vehicle is not supported". I tried to update the device and got nowhere. I click refresh and it just says wait a minute. Half an hour. no update Nothing special.
