That's the best $15 I've spent on a car audio system. I installed a DSP and it just didn't sound complete so I checked the polarity and whalah both woofers on the doors were swapped so I swapped the polarity 180° and bam sounded great.

Straight built-in amplifier, 2 component front speakers and rear subwoofer. Something was wrong so I decided to purchase this tool as at first I was just paying attention to the polarity of the wires as stated in the installation guide. Turns out my amp and a door had the wrong polarity. I am very satisfied with the result and the effectiveness of this tool!

Great tool. I managed to find one of the 8 pairs of speaker wire in my truck that I connect to the amps. It is important that all speakers are in sync (working together) and not working against each other. My new truck doesn't have a CD player. I was able to burn it to a flash drive using my laptop. Remember that lanes 3 and 4 are identical. Any of these will work to check polarity.

I immediately found which speaker was miswired, even though I followed the online guide for their wiring. You made a mistake with the colors and markings + and -! I have a computer with a CD drive so I basically used iTunes to rip the CD to AAC files and save the sound files, then downloaded to a USB drive and used it on my new car stereo which doesn't have one CDs to listen to included soundtracks to test.

The phase tester works perfectly! Very easy to use. Insert a CD and set it to track 3 or 4 (both are the same), turn up the volume a bit so you can hear the popping clearly. Hold the phase meter near the speaker and hold the button. If the phase is correct you will get three green lights and one red. If the phase is reversed you will get three red lights and one green. I could easily tell that the two speakers are out of phase! Worked great every time! Great price, fast delivery!

Works absolutely perfectly. What a wonderful tool! Bad reviewers misused it. You need a new 9V battery and you need to play the 3rd track of the CD. Place the device next to the speaker. Volume is modest so you can converse over the music without shouting. I was able to test all speakers without isolating them with a balance or fader. Insert a CD into the dash and you will hear a rhythmic "beep" [at #3], point the tester at the center of the speaker [no door panel or grille] three times, about 3 inches apart, and press the top [positive] key . Each time the green light blinked three times and then red once. Conclusion: I have laid the speaker cables correctly. Further testing: I swapped the speaker wires.
