Misleading and disappointing.

I don't usually write long and long product reviews, mostly because I don't really care about product reviews. But this particular product was so incredibly frustrating and frustrating to use that I felt a real urge to write about it. First off, I really, really wanted to like this product. Compared to many competitors, this device stood out better. Not only is it cheap for a capture card of this spec, it also offers features that many of its competitors don't have, such as: B. USB-C…

True YUY2 Capture Card, USB 3.0 supporting 1080p 60fps!

For this price this thing is insane It's actually USB 3.0 (instead of the fake blue plug) and can stream 1080p60 raw video for capture! I was looking for a good 1080p60 capture card for my Nintendo Switch and it fits quite well as the loop keeps games "competitive" and the capture looks great. , and delivers crisp images (instead of the fuzzier 30 fps you'll find on cheap MJPEG-based USB 2.0 capture cards). Although YUY2 (video format) is color subsampled, it means very small text can bleed…

[Updated] Didn't work at first, but now it works.

"I don't know if it's just my PS4 and PS3 or if it's a product, but I'm not getting any feedback from my streaming/recording software and my screen is black. It shows my PC screen, not my PS4 + PS3. '[Update]: After some fiddling around and after a while just reconnecting. This product now works with at least one scene in OBS. Decided to update my review to give credit.

Works great in USB3.0 mode

When I first received the box I was sad because I heard that the cable can be of questionable quality as it is not always in USB3 mode lets you connect. If you don't get USB3, it defaults to USB2 and uses MJPEG as the compression, which is very bad (not their fault, it's JPEG). However, the brightness seems to be overloaded in USB2 mode, as I've had a lot of crashes in Super Mario Maker 2 when the game has a lot of water or bright spots, causing crashes. I haven't found a tool that allows you…

DOES NOT WORK WITH CEC

The product itself is in a very high quality metal box. However, note that this device does not support CEC (at least with my 4K Apple TV and my Samsung TV). Also, it randomly decides not to work. I'm using Hyperion on a Raspberry Pi, but also tried on my Macbook, nothing displayed on either... Until it happened accidentally. Even if it is not noted here. I didn't need 4K quality on my capture card, I just wanted the colors on the screen. Other than that, it doesn't support lower resolutions…

Doesn't work with OBS

So this capture card is good when it works. So far this has worked for about 2 weeks, but not anymore. All my cables are connected exactly as they were when it was working, but now the device doesn't show up in OBS. When I try to use it as a video capture device, it no longer shows up as an option. If anyone knows how to fix this please contact me.

Amazing capture card for the price

It has a great capture of your device it's more like a PS4 or Xbox at 1080p@60 with no lag. The only problem I had was making the output 2k@60. I have 2 4k@60 uhd hdmi cables. I would have thought it would be 2k @ 60 but I don't think so. If anyone has a solution please let me know. Many Thanks

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • weak

I've been looking for a decent capture card for under $100 that actually connects via USB 3 and can record YUY2 up to 1080p60. Unfortunately, once you get below that price point, most cards and clones get cheaper and only use USB 2.0 and MJPEG. The main problem is the image quality when working with MJPEG. They take with them all known compression artifacts from the JPEG format. It might not be as noticeable at 1080p, but it's still there. If you plan to play lower resolution retro games, these
