Overeat came in this condition. When I loaded it with 1.5 amps the switching frequency dropped and started whining loudly and heating up worse with more load. So I opened it up to pour epoxy on the inductor to steady it and then I saw that the temp gauge had fallen off and was hanging over the transformer. I don't know what happened to my power supply. It failed less than a week after installing it on a 3D printer (Ender 3). When printing I heard a pop and saw 2 sparks and my circuit blew up. After turning the power back on it still worked, but now if I touch anything metallic on the printer or the power supply I get a weird constant thump.
