Great design albeit noisier

Very fast grinding and very poor retention. Great design, albeit louder. Only suitable for espresso when using pressure baskets. If you're using a filter or fill, buy a BG Burr from Baratza ($30) to give it a rougher, more even look, which I think should be included. If you want to use standard espresso baskets this model is not for you - go for the 270 models. All in all the best meat grinder in this price range.

Great grinder but not very durable hopper

Great grinder for the price and perfect for any consumer or entry-level espresso machine. We use this with our Gaggia Baby and it delivers the perfect grind every time. Also easy to clean. The materials used in this coffee grinder seem cheap, especially the funnel. I was disappointed that one of the bunker's legs broke and I don't know how that even happened. I have never twisted when putting it back on as the funnel is very easy to put on and take off.

Superb grinder

I had a second Capresso Infinity grinder and it started not adjusting the grind. I don't brew espresso, I just grind it for the Moccamaster filter coffee machine. Baratza is a very high quality item. Technivorm likes a fairly coarse grind and does an excellent job at it. I especially like falling through loops when nothing is wasted. It's a bit noisy, but no worse than some of the other kitchen appliances we use. I've waited over six months to write a review to make sure it's reliable and…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

The Sette 30 AP conical grinder lets coffee fall gently into the supplied cup or directly into the portafilter Tips: Baratza recommends adjusting the Espresso level on 7-10. This is very good and can clog portafilters. I ended up starting when I was 20. (1 is the finest powder and 31 is the coarsest grind. Start with less time than you think you need. I used two 3-second grinds to fill my portafilter. Grind for three seconds, pound , grind for three seconds, pound in. Then snap in and extract…

Great beginner grinder.

Arrived today, well packaged. It took 4 shots to build up the grind and time giving me a double shot with good crema and flavor. Keep in mind that I brew with Waring Vero that has been discontinued and there is a reason it has been discontinued. At 7 it clogged my filter, but at 10.5 with a 6 second grind time it gave me 13.5 grams, 30 second press, double shot. Not acidic or metallic, with pleasant flavor nuances. The best plus was being able to throw away the plastic push gizmo at the bottom…

I wish it was quieter and less clutter

I've sought the opinions of others in my home and we all agree. It is very loud. It's dirty. And it's great for fast work. We have improved the taste of the coffee by being able to choose the beans we choose. We place the filter in our Technoform, moisten it and collect the grist directly in the filter. That's good and certainly better than snagging on something and then throwing it in the filter, but even so, the abrasion is everywhere. If anyone has any thoughts I would definitely appreciate…

Well made grinder with 30 grind settings from fine to coarse.

The grinding degree can be easily adjusted so that the coffee beans are ground to the desired size, from very fine (espresso) to coarse (French press). The straight grind conical grinder helps prevent clogging of the coffee grinder powder. The ground coffee falls directly into the grounds container. Equipment mounts can be easily swapped out to install a filter port. Very fast grinder with a powerful motor that grinds the coffee very evenly every time. Thanks to the unique straight-through…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Repair

I've only used the coffee grinder for a few days, so I can't say anything about the durability, but I can say about the grinding quality. I use it to grind at home for my budget espresso machine (Gaggia Classic with PID installed). This, combined with well roasted beans, came close enough in quality to espresso from local coffee bars that I can't tell enough difference to merit a "need" to visit them for a good espresso. That doesn't mean that there (is) no difference, just that my tastes…

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • I won't say anything about that

Have owned it for 3 years.

Pros: - It's a sturdy grinder - It's good enough for our espresso machine (Breville) - We grind about 15-20 times a day. (Owner 3 years) - Easy to clean - Baratza has parts for almost everything. (Which I have successfully done). Bad: noisy noise. However, this largely depends on what type of coffee beans you are using. For some, the grind just shows up with static. For others, it's really clean and tidy. Ugly: - Baratza's gearbox is designed to fail. To be clear, they use _plastic gears_ with…
