This device resembles the old models we used to play in the early 80's. It's a bit harder than the old ones that were on both setting 1 and setting 2. Harder to score accurately. The main downside is that it doesn't have the pass feature that I thought it had. You can only walk on it, which makes it a bit one-dimensional. Add a pass and it's 5 stars.

If you had one as a child and would like to have it back, you've come to the right place. Otherwise, you should know that this is a super simple, less than 8-bit "soccer game" where a red bar is moved around other red bars. Mostly out of nostalgia or to let your kids try what you tried. (Mine loves this thing, but knows it's "simple" compared to every other electronic game they own.)

If you had the original game from the 80's then you're going to hate this piece of junk. The graphics are almost impossible to see and the sound effects are terrible. You can't promote a runner because the game never gives a runner an opportunity. When a runner is grabbed, instead of the original game's beep, this game makes an annoying noise that sounds like someone walking past a kidney stone. I know because I passed two last year.

I remember playing the same game in the late 70's and early 80's. I told my six year old son about it and he seemed happy to try it. Received as a Christmas present, he was very happy! He didn't let go for weeks. Now a year later he still plays it occasionally and enjoys it as much as any other PS3 game we have with killer sound effects and graphics. I think there's a lot to be said for these simplistic retro handheld games!

I *want* to give 5 stars because it's so much fun, but the manufacturer's quality control is HORRIBLE. They should have someone play/test each unit to make sure they are in good condition (isn't that amazing work?). I had to return 3 units because the buttons either got stuck or you had to press too hard for the game to recognize your movements. In particular, the left arrow on all three returned units made me think it might be a bad batch. Normally I would never put up with such poor quality…
