Sharp easy notches for spoons and bowls

Sharp enough to use straight away is a plus. The shape, size and outline were perfect for my intended use of making a spoon. My only concern is that I now have a blister on my palm from using it. The chamfer at the end of the handle digs a little into the hand. I can sand it down to make it more rounded which would be perfect. I switched to gloves to avoid blistering the first time I used them, but it was too late. Aside from this comfort issue, the grip's thickness is great and it's very ready

Great company - great product

BeaverCraft has found a loyal customer in me. I originally gave this product 4 stars because I thought it could have been a little sharper straight away, although it was a great chisel and chisel and I wasn't sure I could sharpen it myself due to the curved blade. A few days later I received an unexpected package from Revain in the mail. This was a new product from BeaverCraft specifically designed to sharpen this and other BeaverCraft products. The strap they sent me was a wonderful product…

Beautiful wood craft tool

The chisel is beautiful and convenient. I like the six inch contoured pen. It is well suited for hands in multiple positions. It's not flimsy, so I held it by the thread for a long time. Thick brass front. The blade is truly razor sharp and polished. It really is ready to drink straight away. I did nothing with it and started carving the dried maple. That is different. This notch will transform my spoon carving. I have purchased several BeaverCraft tools and have enjoyed every one of them. I…

Don't use a hammer!

I think this is best for softwood only. In a forest like pine, poplar or linden, this is great. I was able to get cup shape pretty quickly. I've tried making straight, rounded grooves on a piece of maple, but nothing came of it. I tried using a hammer to apply more force and then I went out and bought a router and a core box drill. is it a joke Then, again with a hammer, I tried to knock a piece of oak tree out of the backyard and the tip broke off the tree! That's when I thought maybe I'm not…

It's instantly sharp and handy

Haven't done this in a while, I'm by no means a pro but I've had some magical results with this tool. You can see a few other things I made with this tool in the photos I posted, but I posted 2 pictures of one of the projects because I made this one out of a 2" x 6" piece of basswood made by using ONLY this furrow it was great experience. I've been to several wood workshops and I have to admit that I don't think their prices are welcome for "newbies". Dropping $30 to $40 for ONE tool is kind of

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Piggy bank price

If you plan on using this on anything other than knotless softwood, forget it. The tool just can't take the sharpening. I cut a piece of softwood with a branch and in less than 5 minutes of use the edge was bent. I don't care if it gets dull, I can sharpen it quickly, but a bent edge is a different story. It's just a hassle to fix and not worth the effort if it comes back after 5 minutes. Update: Based on my initial review, the seller contacted me and offered a replacement. I got a replacement…
