Very Impressed

In the past I've mostly bought Flexcut knives and chisels so I wasn't sure how they would fit into their line. I have to say I'm really impressed with the Sloyd knife I bought from BeaverCraft. So much so that I bought a full carving kit and some chisels. Sloyd arrived very punctually, ready to go. The blade felt well balanced and strong. Excellent knife. I am a 64 year old woman learning to carve!

At first this knife seemed huge, but I soon fell in love with it. It feels good in my hand, but I think I need to wrap something around the handle to make it more stable in my hand. I'm sure it's just me. Please do yourself a favor and buy basswood wood to start carving. This knife, while razor sharp, taught me that plain old SPF wood is NOT suitable. I managed to watch Doug Linker's YouTube video teaching me how to carve the Moravian Star and it turned out great even though I used fir! Overall
