Description of 🚲 BELL Sixer MIPS Mountain Bike Helmet for Adults

FUSION IN-MOLDING POLYCARBONATE SHELL, PROGRESSIVE LAYERING, AND EXPOSED POLYCARBONATE ROLL CAGE - A process pioneered by Bell bonds the helmet's outer shell to the EPS foam liner to create a sturdier helmet. The process of engineering a helmet liner with variable EPS foam densities to better manage the transfer of energies after some impacts. MIPS-EQUIPPED AND FLOAT FIT RACE (INTEGRATED WITH MIPS) - MIPS stands for Multi-directional Impact Protection System, which is a leading slip-plane technology inside the helmet designed to reduce rotational forces that can result from certain impacts. Custom-fit at the highest performance, Seemlessly integrated with MIPS, and offers three-way adjustability: height, pad width, and tension. X-STATIC AND XT2 PADDING, NO-TWIST TRI-GLIDES AND SWEAT GUIDE - Quick-drying materials, woven with real silver fibers. Quick-adjust fasteners that help keep straps flat and properly positioned. Sweat Guide pad design pulls moisture away from the brow pad and away from eyewear. DUAL-FLOW VENTILATION, INTEGRATED BREAKAWAY CAMERA MOUNT, AND 4-POSITION ADJUSTABLE VISOR - Actively ushers cool air over the head and regulates temperature by drawing cool air into the intake ports and circulating it through a matrix of air channels. A seamless camera mount, requiring no zip ties or tape, is engineered to break away upon impact to reduce the risk of injury. Adjusts for maximum comfort and steeze. How many more positions you need bro?!. SPECIFICATIONS - Small (52-56 cm), Medium (55-59 cm), Large (58-62 cm), and X-Large (61-65 cm) Sizes (X-Large size comes in some colors). Important: always take a head measurement. Head sizes and shapes can vary, even within an age range. Using a helmet that does not fit can be dangerous; 26 Vents and 4 Brow ports.

Good helmet but the chin buckle is not adjustable!

Unlike any other helmet I've owned for decades, the chin strap doesn't adjust sideways. Of course you can tighten the strap, but it pulls the buckle to the only adjustable side, and the strap cannot be pulled through the helmet to center the buckle. If you need to tighten it, it can sit right on your jawbone. The info also implies that the camera/light mount was compatible with many add-ons, but you'll need an adapter unless it's a night bike. Otherwise it fits well and feels solid. Cozy.

Great that it comes in XL.

Thank you for making a real XL helmet! I have tried other helmets but the Bell XL size fits me best. Now I don't have an XL head but it's wide and that's why I need to switch to XL. The fit is excellent with excellent adjustment. The back of the headband has three vertical positions and the lowest position holds my head perfectly so it holds my head. It sits firmly on my head with almost no movement and at the same time very comfortable. The GoPro mount is well integrated and solid. No need for

more protection, very uncomfortable

This fits well, I feel like I have more protection because it fits snugly and covers most of my forehead and the back of my head where the brainstem is. I doubt if I break it will come loose. Unfortunately, the velcro on the pad dangles above the eyebrows, leaves pressure points on the head and is a bit annoying. Update after one to two months of use. This is the worst helmet, it seems safe in a fall but very uncomfortable. The inner lining is very thin and has tiny velcro straps that don't…

Well constructed helmet

Only ridden once so far but really enjoyed it. This helmet replaced the Super 2. My Super 2 was large, but for some reason the medium sixer fits me better. Keep this in mind when replacing the Super 2. Much more comfortable than my old helmet and I really felt the extra vents. I also like the camera mount. I was able to disassemble the strap mount for the Cyclglolite Metro1100 and install it on the helmet mount that came with it. Useful in autumn. Seems really well done. The visor makes an…

It's not worth the price

I recently bought this helmet to replace my Giro Xen helmet which I had for a few years and which was wearing out with use. I am not at all impressed with the performance of the helmet. Sweat Control: One of the positive reviews I read about it mentioned its ability to control sweat, which is a plus in warm climates. So far my experience has been that sweat control is poor unless you consider controlling sweat on your eyes a plus. Weight: The helmet is significantly heavier than my last helmet,

Good but not for heavy sweating

So I've waited almost a year to write this review, you have a good opportunity to try my helmet in all weathers. I really wanted to love this helmet and on the helmet mounting board I love it. I like camo and orange, MIPS and ventilation, but the sweat protection system is complete nonsense. Now I say that with the caveat that I sweat like no other. I'm sweating from my bald head like an absolute cat, and I'm sweating in a clot from my brows. The sweat pad channel system doesn't work enough to…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

This helmet really saved my head from an unexpectedly low branch, took a real hit that badly dented the outer shell and broke one of the inner foam ribs in half, but the MIPS worked great and I am got away with it zero injuries and just a little stunned. So for actual work as a head saver, NO complaints, 5 stars :) On top of that, it's a very nice piece and it fits perfectly without squeezing my sunglasses on the bridge of my nose like some other helmets do. I also really like the adjustable…

Good but could be better, marked Ladies

The helmet itself seems great so far. I've been using it for almost a month and have been riding 2-3 times a week weather permitting here in the Houston area. The belt tension knob works great with one hand, even when wearing gloves. The lining pads are attached with Velcro and can be removed for washing. I had a long ride and they got wet and I want to try and wash them every few rides so they don't get too dirty. I simply rinsed them in warm water, let them dry and attached them to the…
