Lightweight Swiss Arca Travel Solution

I bought this to be compatible with Swiss Arca but was very happy to find out how lightweight it is. This Benro will now be my travel ball head on monopod and tripod. It holds a large Nikon with a variety of f/2.8 telephoto lenses surprisingly well, and movement is smooth. I am impressed with the build quality and how well the quick release mechanism works with the various Arca tablets I already own. I think it's a good price.

Not for heavy cameras / high-angle lenses

Very nicely finished. The controls work smoothly. However, it doesn't hold a Nikon D500 with a Tamron 150-600mm Gen 2 lens pointed at the moon. I do NOT believe this is a product defect and this comment is only included in this review for those who have a similar camera and lens combo. I switched it from a tripod to a monopod and it works well at angles closer to horizontal. Overall I am satisfied with this product.

Breathtaking quality.: Monopods

This is my third. Not out of luck, I finally couldn't resist attaching both my tripods and monopod. Everything about it says affordable quality. Secure and adaptable. This is not a cheap device. It's quality through and through. You can even turn it into a single controller by releasing the spin and ball controls and just using the friction knob to control everything. It is even possible to lock with just friction.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Very expensive

Very good for the price

Is it as smooth as Kirk? no Is it smooth enough to work properly? Yes. A great ball head for the price. The controls are really impressive as they are smooth and snap firmly into place with minimal twisting. WARNING: All control knobs were locked in the fully open position and I could not turn them by hand when I first opened the box. I used a couple of channel locks (with a gasket) to turn them with a light push and unlocked them all. After that everything worked correctly.

Large Ball Head: Monopods

After using Manfrotto ball heads for a long time, I decided to buy these for my Manfrotto Element Traveler Small (MKELES5BL-BH). I replaced the tripod head on this tripod with a Benro IB0 and I have to say that I am very happy with it. Very smooth movement and I love the Arca Swiss Lock. It took a few tries to get used to the lock, but after that you can use it. The IB0 is roughly the same size as the Manfrotto stick head that comes with this tripod, so you can easily fold it up and slip it in…

  • Great for a small home

Exceeded expectations. Outstanding quality and reliability.

I wish I had bought this ball head sooner. I bought it to replace my original ball head with a Benro IT15, my favorite travel tripod. The ball head on the IT15 (or Travel Angel) doesn't have pan controls, and as I'm doing more and more panoramic shots with my camera, I've chosen this one. Some additional plus points: More durable than original ball heads on travel tripods. Slightly larger than the original ball heads, but not so wide that the legs don't break. Ability to withstand heavier…

  • Great for outdoor activities

Great ball head but oversized for telephoto

I bought this to use with the new Benro tripod and it's fantastic. My typical setup weighs about 5 pounds, but my telephoto/telephoto combo weighs just under 11 pounds. This head is rated a 17 and works great with my standard lenses, but I see a bit of creep on my telephoto lens no matter how tight I tighten it. I borrowed a 40lb B2 and it was perfect. So the lesson learned is, if you're using a telephoto lens where movement is amplified, use a head with a much higher load capacity, you may not
