It just works! from 120V to 240V .

I bought this to work with several units (synthesizers/amplifiers) bought in the UK. Works great, no noise at 240V. Just works as described.

Great idea, but adapters need work.

The product is brilliant but I have to play with adapters to charge my things. The device will work when plugged into an outlet, but when plugged into a device it will not work without tampering with the plug.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Small flaws

Well built but a bit noisy

When I moved to the US, I found that the desktop computer I brought with me used 150W at 220-240V. This power converter does the job and looks well built. I would give it 5 stars but the fan in the converter is louder than the computer.

Excellent condition brand new works like a charm

I'm hesitant to buy this as this is a refurbished product but it was brand new and in perfect condition with a good holdall to put everything in . The 2 travel adapters included are what I need to connect my Australian 240v 50hz products. I recommend!

Pros
  • GOLS certified

Not what I expected

Plugged in a Singer 222K sewing machine and turned on the light (nearly 70 years old, purely mechanical). Consumes no electricity except for a 5W LED light bulb and the sewing machine hums. Connected to another converter and the hum was gone. The converter actually hums too, but only the internal fans are a bit loud, but not overly loud.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Expensive

Does the job but is too noisy

I bought this power converter to stream from a European TV (220V/50-60Hz) to a US TV (110V/60Hz). to be able to use. It works, but as soon as you turn it on, even with no load, it spins up the internal fan, which produces a fairly loud noise and should be muted to reduce annoying noise interference. Also, it gets pretty hot after a while even with no load, which is probably why the fan has to be spinning all the time. If I were to buy another power converter for this purpose, I would take a…

Good value for money

I've seen many different voltage converters in different ranges (e.g. 25W to 2000W). This one was in the sweet spot with enough power to run 2 or 3 things I need (like a sewing machine and charger) without paying too much. There is a slight hum of its own during operation, which is a disadvantage. But I'm pretty sure it's just a consequence of what's happening with electricity. I've never used a totally silent step-up transformer. Since it makes some noise, I usually only use it when needed. So

Great product to use

I travel a lot in the EU and own some 220V appliances and this boost converter comes in very handy. Pros: It has an on/off switch making it safer to use the IMO rather than plugging it directly into an electrical current that you must turn on before plugging in the device. Comes with two extra plugs for 220V. The cable and the device itself feel strong and durable. It certainly won't get any cheaper. The disadvantages are too great. The reason I give it 4/5 stars is because of the bulkiness of…

Poor design, bad contacts, noisy

This adapter converter has three problems: 1) contact between the UK plug and the base is sporadic and very poor; A slight movement of the plug can supply 240V as long as your hand inserts the plug into the device. Two of these units had this problem so I gave up and bought another brand 2) The unit has active power amplification electronics (switch mode power supply, no transformer) which is poorly filtered before shipping and produces noise that you can hear in the speakers *Audio* equipment…
