This clay lamp works well. However, I suggest that you do not use lamp fuel. Olive oil works very well and the wick burns well with it.

It is beautiful and I have lit it for several hours each day since I received it. However, when using it as an oil lamp, place it on an impenetrable slab. The oil penetrates the clay and collects a little underneath.

Caught fire and almost burned my house down. Oil leaks out of the lamp because the terracotta is too porous and the whole lamp lights up. Huge fire. Very creepy! Lamps need a different oil or glaze to prevent leakage. Please warn customers ❣️

In fact, nothing can be expected from a clay lamp, except that there will be no leaks. This is a simple and well made lamp. I am currently burning olive oil in my homemade cotton wick.

There is a wick, so I carefully added oil to the lamp, allowed the wick to absorb the extra virgin olive oil, and lit. Nice! No leakage.
