Not the best investment

The pages are not perforated so not good if you want to take out your art. The pages resemble the basic quality of computer paper in a spiral notebook. I'm right handed and have trouble working with spirals and my feather pens don't do well with the cheap quality paper. Unfortunately I spent a lot of money on extra drawing paper for toddlers to draw as it is not professional art quality.

It literally stinks. for sketchbooks and notebooks

The first one I received smelled strongly of perfume or something. Revane exchanged it for another that arrived with the same smell but to a lesser extent. However, enough to make it useless due to my intolerance to perfumed cleaning products and the like. Either these pods are scented, which is unlikely, or they are stored next to some scent and will absorb the smell. I can try to exchange it again but what a waste of time and materials. I give it three stars because they are probably good…

Excellent sketchbook, I recommend it to everyone

I like this sketchbook! It's big and the paper is really nice to draw on and it's not flimsy/thin paper, it's almost as thick as printer paper but feels a bit different. The sketchbook isn't very durable as the front cover is mostly paper and the back cover is cardboard, so I'm not taking it anywhere, but I don't care. This is still a very good sketchbook that I enjoy using and as it has many pages it will definitely last me a while. A big plus is that it's cheaper here than if I bought it at a

Good but needs attention due to bleeding

Well I just got it so I guess I can't say much but it seems good to me. I've tested the black Staedtler pens on this to see if they bleed and they only bleed when I've filled them in a lot. So if you just want to write/outline (with pens I just outline and then fill in with pencil so it's not a problem for me) I don't think bleeding would be a problem. I've sized it so I can easily put regular printer paper on top of the pages if I want to recreate them and it has a good page count. If I have…

In general, everything is fine - notebooks and notebooks

This Bienfang notebook is enough to keep a journal, which is what I wanted it for. I decided to give it a try because the price was a lot lower than the Canson Sketch I've been using for years. Three stars because Bienfang says it's 5.5 x 8.5, which should be the same size as Canson. The photo shows the difference. , perhaps because Bienfang does not have perforated pages. It's fine for what I want, but I wouldn't want to do serious sketching as the quality of the paper lags 65 pounds behind…

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Nothing here

I hand out such small sketchbooks to high school students in drawing classes. Cheaper is good. However, the cover of this book is slightly thicker and heavier than 50 pound paper. The cover does not withstand being stowed in an ordinary student backpack. Once the front cover is ripped off, the papers will begin to peel off. Judging by the picture, I was hoping that the front cover would be cardboard with a glossy printed sticker, but it's not. 50 lb paper is fine for student sketches, but the…

Great for regular journaling, letting your mind wander

I have a couple of Strathmore albums to draw on tried from diaries and none of them worked well. The paper was too thick, the spirals were too small, the paper was torn, or the pages were too dark, brown. This notebook is great for sketching or journaling (pen or pencil). :one. The front cover is mainly made of thick cardboard, not hard cardboard.2. Hardboard back, but not as hard as the Strathmore albums. Pros: 1. The paper is the perfect thickness, off-white or off-white.2. Spirals keep the…

Pretty good

When I first got it I thought the paper was a little flimsy but that's not too bad, so far it hasn't bled through to the next page (although I only used regular ink sticks, no paint or markers). Although it hasn't bled out, it's still thin. So unless you're just using it for light sketching, you probably can't draw on the front and back of the pages without seeing the drawing on the opposite page. Pages (darker sketches and what I circled with ink pens can be seen on the back of the pages). It…
