That works fine. Need an extra screw or tool to finish the job.

I was able to remove the wedge set from the left side. I couldn't open it from the right side because it wouldn't stay in when I used force. Reading online people recommended I get a Pedro Spline BB tool to hold it in place or use a 1mm x 50" M8 bolt. In this sense, it is not a tool error. I think it's basic physics. My suggestion is based on experience as I need to open up the bottom bracket assemblies and try again: I would recommend anyone ordering this tool to remove the bottom bracket also

A must have for square tapered bottom brackets

I decided to upgrade my crankset so I had to upgrade the bottom bracket. I had a tapered Shimano Square bottom bracket, so I bought a BIKEHAND bottom bracket removal tool. This tool is used to remove and install square bevel sealed bottom brackets such as Shimano's Octalink (20 tooth cassettes with approx. 31mm). The tool can be used with a 24mm socket (slip onto the end of the tool if you don't have a 1/2" ratchet), a 1/2" ratchet or brake rod, or an adjustable wrench (sickle ) be used ). I…

Perfect for Lifecore Assault Air Bike Bottom Bracket

I needed to remove a crank arm from a Lifecore Assault Air bike so I ordered this tool. The fit was perfect. I was surprised to learn that the Assault bike uses common BB removal tools, but there is very little information online to know which tool or even a video on how to do it. Thing is, I couldn't find a video showing how it's done. Sadly, even Lifecore, the company behind the Assault Air Bike, doesn't provide instructions or help with bike maintenance. There are a few videos showing how…

A must have for DIY bike mechanics

If you have read my other reviews (about mountain bikes) you will see that I have been working with bikes since I was 10 years old. Does that make me a pro? No, but it shows that I know something about tools or not. By the time you're 10, you might have access to a hammer and screwdriver you stole from your dad. We completely disassembled the bikes and rebuilt them with just a few tools, including lacing the wheels and replacing the bottom bracket. That being said, this tool would have been…
