Grilled Hands: Motorcycle & Power Sports

WARNING: God, wear nitrile gloves when installing. The glue that was in the package will most likely push the end out, especially when attaching the left grip. I hope you have acetone handy. They will glue your fingers in 30 seconds. Guess how I know that. TIPS: Even if the instructions don't tell you, sand the handlebars with a 40 grit or so, as well as the inner plastic liner of the grip to give the glue room to grip. Also get a wiring diagram for your bike as you will need to connect it to a

Too short for my 81 Goldwing but love the controller

Hard rubber grips. I also found that the Goldwing had longer than average handlebars and my handlebars were sticking out at the ends of that handlebar. It would work, but it would look ridiculous. I like the backlit LCD digital controller; five power levels and a good voltmeter that I can see while driving. I cut the wires on the handlebars, threw them away and kept the controller. I took apart a set of Bikemaster foam grips (the ones with chrome ends), put heating pads in and soldered them to…

They work great. but

. I give them a well deserved 5 stars BUT with a few questions. 1) They are rigid with very little padding. I understand that this may be necessary to ensure that as much of the heat generated reaches your hand as possible. Perhaps this is necessary, but not very practical. 2) They come with a tube of "superglue" to attach the handles. NO WAY! If you use it, you're almost guaranteed never to be able to remove or adjust the knobs. There's glue for grippy styling, but I've always found that the…

The general appearance and performance of this product are excellent. The instructions are poorly written, but Bikemaster contacted me and said they would fix it. I destroyed the first set with a rubber mallet to install the side throttle. The fit is very tight, even after trimming and preparing the throttle tube. So I ordered another set and used tire mounting grease and a block of wood between the handle and rubber mallet. Still difficult to install. Use an appropriately sized outlet to plug…

This is a great kit. One reviewer mentioned that installing .

Excellent set. One reviewer mentioned that installation was difficult - quite the opposite, they are easier to install than any other kit I have used and I have installed many of them. All connections are keyed so nothing can be plugged in the wrong way or in the wrong connector. There is no battery terminal harness in the kit, which I think is a good thing. They must be connected to a switched power supply to prevent them from being left on and draining the battery. Each motorcycle has its own

Good product for the price

I bought these units last year before any reviews were posted. I wanted heated grips and always wanted a volt meter so that seemed like a good idea. At first I was concerned about the quality, but no more. I wired mine through a relay so it was a bit tricky but still easy. Pre-wired connectors make connection easy after power is connected. BTW, the harness connectors aren't waterproof, so I smeared each connector with dielectric grease in hopes of preventing future corrosion. The wire gauge in…
