🔧 Bissell Lift-Off Replacement Belt, 2 Pack, Model 3200 Review

After 6.5 years, our Lift-Off Pet Revolution 18Z6 Agitator stopped turning the agitator. We also smelled a strange smell while vacuuming. The combination of replacing this belt and the roller itself solved the problem. Some people have noticed that this belt is tighter than the previous one. I think that was to be expected. The reason the old belt no longer works is that it has stretched and no longer has the correct tension to transmit the rotary motion from the motor to the pulley.

As with several other reviews of this belt I bought two packs and the first one broke. Didn't have time to suck anything. It just burned out and burst within minutes. It went in the trash. I don't think these are the right size, although Revane says they fit my model number. The second is on the vacuum cleaner, but the brush does not move at all. I'm afraid the second belt will be the same as the first. Very annoying. Now I have to go and find the right belt. Wasted time and money on them.

I bought these a while back after ordering belts that were specifically designed for my particular model of Bissell vacuum. When I finally installed them they were very tight but I assumed they would loosen. They didn't. They tied the spindle so tight that the brush motor failed. For some reason these straps don't close as well as the factory strap. I used to be able to set the vacuum to the "BARE FLOOR" setting and the straps hooked in well enough to keep the brushes running. However, after switching to these belts, I can no longer do this. I have to go up 2 steps or the straps will slip and there is this nasty, unsightly burnt rubber smell. Not like that good burnt rubber smell you can feel on the track. This smell is rotten. Wow that is a HUGE difference indeed. Apparently my old vacuum belt stretched and started to slip. When I installed the new belt, my vacuum was much better at picking up fine dirt and dog hair. My vacuum seemed to work fine, the agitator worked, and the carpet seemed clean. As soon as I installed the new belt, I saw how poorly my vacuum cleaned.
