I am a senior and this solved my problem of not hearing voices clearly. As an extra, it solves 95% of the problem of loud commercials and certain parts of programs being too loud. I have not made adjustments since up. I just use my Comcast remote.

I told my Audiologist that sound volume was not my hearing loss problem, but sound clarification was. When watching movies, no matter how loud I turn the TV up, I still can't understand all of the words and therefore I do not enjoy watching movies. My Audiologist suggested that I buy a sound bar. The sound clarity selections work well for helping to understand speech when watching programs on TV. My wife has the hearing loss and it helps tremendously in understanding what is being said. However, because of her severe hearing loss, she still needs the closed caption. What doesn't seem to work as well is the dampening of music that is being played during a program. It still drowns out the dialogue.

This sound bar is exceptional for use with most TV’s. To ensure a small thin footprint, makers have their speakers facing BACKWARDS vs forward. This causes sound waves to be reflected off drywall or other hard surfaces. The ZVOX faces all sounds forward towards the listeners ears. A much better outcome. I have installed 5 or 6 for friends. Everyone lives this little sound tweak.

I expected something that costly would be new and not a returned item. The first one didn't work at all and the inside packaging had crayon coloring all over the bottom. The replacement also showed signs of previous ownership but at least it works. If I wasn't so desperate to hear the TV dialogue I would have returned that one also.

What can I say? This device does exactly what it claims to do; enhancing, clarifying, and improving dialog in all movies, TV shows, or DVD/Blu-Rays. If your video has either poorly done dialog (bad mixing by studio) or similar issues, this soundbar could be for you. We've been very happy with it's performance.

I had been considering purchasing this sound bar for a long time, but with the Bluetooth connection with my Oticon hearing aide, I could get by. Not a game player so I wanted a sound bar specifically for dialogue. It's great! Especially for British dramas. What difference this made in actually hearing the dialogue. Highly recommend for those that aren't gamers or into block-buster, noisy thrillers.

5 stars rating is for the customer support.After 6 months the soundbar stopped connecting with its remote. After purchasing a new remote that didn’t work either I calledcustomer service. Best ever! I had to return the soundbar at no cost and 2 days later I received a new one.

I just received this item & was excited to see if it helped me hear dialogue better. Sadly, the remote control died after 10 minutes. I’m really disappointed & will probably return it if I don’t get a replacent remote & so far, customer service has been disappointing.Edit: I was able to get the cost of a remote refunded & am waiting for a new remote. Still a frustrating experience. Sound quality is good from what I can hear (unable to adjust settings without remote.)

Easy to install, set up, and adjust. Movies are so much better when you don't have to guess at the dialog! It's also a relief to know I'm not damaging my hearing by turning up the volume in an effort to hear the words. We now have very good sound quality, and easy volume control. The remote buttons could be more responsive (4 stars for that), but overall it's still a great product. I definitely recommend for casual TV and movie watching.

This was a great speaker for my hearing impaired father. But then died after less than one year. No replacement parts available, zero customer service. Don’t waste your money like I did.

I had a sound bar with woofer box and it quit, so I searched for a new one and found the Zvox. I wanted it for more clarity. The remote made it possible to manipulate the sound quality. The bass is good, but the treble still makes most women's voices sound a bit tinny. I had hoped that the "clarity" would make it possible to understand English actors, as in some of the great PBS programs, but generally they still might as well be speaking a foreign language. This gives me exactly the assistance I needed hearing the television. With one of my TVs it was easy to connect. With an older one, it required adaptors and this was not at all clear in the instructions. However, when I emailed the customer support I got exactly the information I needed.

Never got it hooked up. After finally getting the info, found it will not work with my muiti-speaker set up. Nothing wrong with it, it just won't work with me receiver/speaker set up.

My mom cant hear or understand 3 out of 4 words you say to her. She could no longer enjoy tv because it was worse. Got this and was able to tune it into her without making it obnoxiously loud to disturb neighbors and she can watch all of the Westerns she wants now. She has been enjoying it for nearly a year now and very very happy with it.
