Watch a video on You Tube how to install

My husband and I installed a taillight kit on our Jeep Cherokee so we can tow it behind our RV. We found a video on You Tube that explains how to install and what tools we need. In the end we were able to get the light to work properly.

Overpriced for towing and winch items

This kit does what it says on the tin. After receiving this kit I realized I could buy the diodes separately and use a trailer wiring kit from my local auto parts store to do the same for a lot less money. The installation procedures are the same in both cases. After installing according to the instructions, everything worked as advertised.

Pros
  • Constant test results
Cons
  • Some bugs

Lighting on my HHR - Towing and Winch Products

I recently outfitted my 2008 HHR for towing behind our RV. including using the existing taillights on the car. These diodes were the only way to make that possible. I just completed a 1900 mile tow that included 6 hitches and unhitches from the RV. All good, it was a very easy way to have taillights, turn signals and brake lights when towing or driving.

Pros
  • Best in Niche
Cons
  • Pretty much everything is fine

Worked great! on Hitch Accessory

This is the second taillight set I have purchased from Blue OX. The first was for my Jeep Liberty, this is for my 2018 Jeep Wrangler. The instructions are clear and the installation went smoothly. The light worked correctly out of the gate! Since the new Jeep has all the LED lights I doubted they would work properly but it worked, thanks Blue OX! I highly recommend this product for Jeep Wrangler owners who rear tow their Jeep and RV.

  • Easy Install

NO works. on Wiring

This works great if you have the skill and patience to cut the extremely thin wires that Chrysler (and others I assume) now use to connect sealed taillights. While you wouldn't normally recommend soldering wires in a car, it really is necessary because they're so good you can't be sure that twisted connections will bounce down the road. Come on Blue Ox, your main competitor in this space offers a simple male/female connector that can be inserted between the source and the tail light.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Slightly Crumpled

I read the review and watched the trailer video on YouTube before I ordered it. I was very concerned not to screw it up. It took me about 2 hours to install and progress was slow. I used a tester I bought to test the current and it works fine. I read a review here about a man who had to cut wires and was upset. He should do more research because that's how this kit works. Installed everything and it works great!

The perfect kit for connecting headlight toads!

Easy to install and works great! You only need a 12 volt probe to find the correct wires in the wire harness, then cut, crimp and connect! Just be sure and crimp each wire well to the connector! I routed the wires through the frame tube for a cleaner look, then routed them outside and drilled through the front bumper with a hole saw to install the connector that runs between the truck and the RV. You can just glue it well and then zip it into the bumper if you don't want to drill into the…

Good quality and easy to install but instructions could be better

Easy to install. Blue Ox offers plenty of wires but no spare plugs. So if you make a bad crimp you will have to buy another connector unless you keep a set in your kit like I do. The diodes are a bit big, but they also handle more current than the other kits. Blue Ox definitely benefits from this, but the prices are competitive. The four-core flat cable is easy to route without unexpected separation of the cores from the bundle. The instructions can be confusing for those installing one of…

Great for most vehicles with amber taillights on vans and cars

This is the second time I've installed one of these kits. The first time was on Saturn 2002 and everything went smoothly. But a lot has changed since 2002. This time it's a 2014 Ford Focus Titanium Hatchback. This car's wiring does not conform to the fixed instructions that worked in 2002. Wires to each bulb in the right and left taillight assemblies are routed individually in a bundle of approximately 50 wires along the right and left sides of the vehicle. that are multicolored. I had to…
