So I read the reviews before buying, and I.

So I read the reviews before buying and frankly I don't understand the complaints. It holds the light and when you slide the piece under the terrarium it stays in place. I tried the one that's "secured" with double-sided tape and it fell off. My air duct was sealed with duct tape and after a few hours it fell off again. glob

It's almost perfect. The best feature is that it allows you to .

Almost perfect. Best of all, you can rotate your arm to the side, so you don't have to completely remove the stand after it gets stuck under the tank. My only addition is the top bracket for the lights. I attached a strong clip to the upper arm to hold the light out of the way when I need it. Excellent purchase. Now I have two.

Needs better finishing process and packaging

Good quality material. Item arrived used or due to poor packaging/paint damage in transit. There are many nicknames on it. Processing is not complete. I had to remove the metal flakes to make it work. I could push it through, but that would further damage the paintwork when adjusting. It would be great if the kit included lantern hooks. Luckily I was able to use the clip that comes with the light to get it working.

Rods came out of hole with excess metal

For a lamp base that costs more than others, I expected much better quality than what I received. When assembling, I couldn't fit the parts together. Shining a flashlight inside, I noticed excess metal on the inside of the rods coming out of the hole drilled. It's put together and seems solid enough, but then again I paid extra for this "luxury" lamp stand which had a very obvious flaw that really should have been caught/prevented before shipping to customers.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction

I bought this for Mikey and Leo. They asked for some UV lamps and some heat for their beach during the colder months and I happily accepted. The stand holds the twin lamp socket perfectly and is height and depth adjustable as described. I use it for a 200 gallon feeder that is about 2.5 feet tall. Whatever you decide to do, make sure you slide your foot under something heavy and that you know the recommended height for your reps or herpes to get enough rays. (This is important for vitamin…

The ideal solution - durable and adaptable.

Great solution! We have a cat that loves to visit our sea turtle by sitting on top of the screen (they are friendly). We used to have a dual light right on the screen. But I was afraid that if we weren't at home and turned off the light, there might be a fire. This lightweight stand eliminates all worries. It is very durable and holds light well. Some others have reported that the twin lights were a little wobbly, but I found wrapping the cords around the top added more stability to keep the…

Holds a double dome over my 20g tank H

I wasn't sure about this product due to the conflicting reviews but I personally had no trouble assembling it. It's easy to adjust and as others have said you can unfold your arm if you want to remove the cap from the tank so the light doesn't get in your way! I wish it didn't squeak so much when you move it, but I could make it DW40 if I'm interested. I ordered another stand from Petco and it couldn't make it, so this one definitely wins. It's strong enough to hold my double deep canopy so my…

Suitable for heating lamps

Suitable for hanging a double lamp for a turtle terrarium. I had to use a screwdriver in the hole in the bottom panel to remove the excess metal. Apparently, tapping on the screw hole pushed the shavings inward, blocking the insertion of the square bar. I just took a flat head screwdriver, put it through the drill bits and hit it with a hammer. There were almost no burrs, however, they interfered with the assembly of the assembly. After the drill bits were removed the square piece went in with…

maybe a little under 55 gallons but I personally don't like it

I don't know who would actually stick a plate under an aquarium. maybe in a little less than 55 gallons, but personally I don't like it. Also the type of stand I use to support my aquarium precludes this. However, I found a way to get this to work and it does exactly what I need it to do. I had to put the record on top of the box and then weigh it down with books and a metal box. Also, I use it to temporarily support two lamps for the winter. It is usually only used for this bright white…
