I used these bulbs to germinate vegetable seeds

I'm tired of heating mats and infrared lamps to germinate seeds, especially peppers. I used a bulb from these bulbs and they worked fine. These are the fastest pepper sprouts I have seen in many years of gardening.

One of the lamps "exploded " after a few days of use

I have been using this type of ceramic heater for a long time. I searched Amazon for the best I could find and found this product. Unfortunately, one in three lightbulbs died after just a few days of use. I'm currently using a second bulb and it seems to be working fine. Value for money: I give 3 stars because one of the bulbs was defective. Heat output: I give 5 stars. Make sure you are using the correct ceramic ballast for the lamp wattage you have chosen! Temperature control: I give 4 stars.

A ceramic heater works very differently than a heat lamp.

When testing my 60 watt ceramic heater before installing it, I found that the heater heats up to over 400F. But the heat comes from the ceramic heater itself. I held my hand 6 inches from the heater and barely felt the heat. What's wrong? I had to move my hand 2 inches to the heater to feel intense heat and less than 1 inch to get any significant heat off my hand.
