Good little pump for the money

Only tested and not used for a long time but good pump so far. It works silently, which is a plus. It works great with my 20 year old Bosch instantaneous water heater in a special recirculation circuit. At first I was worried that due to its characteristics the pressure wouldn't be enough to activate the heater but it worked fine. I disconnected the pressure/flow switch that came with the kit and connected it to this circuit to control the temperature. In the end it will be an Alexa control…

Good pump for the price

Looking for an alternative circulation pump for my water heater (AO Smith) The pump is quiet and works well. I put a jumper on each branch of the hot water lines at the farthest faucet on each line. No dedicated return line, cold lead return line. A simple smart IP power plug to manage your schedule and turn your pump on and off. The only small drawback I found was the flow monitor switch, which could have been a little more sensitive. Turning the pump on each morning before you shower requires

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Very expensive

. So it will almost fit NTP threads but since the thread depth is different you will end up with a poor seal unless you have a very high quality pipe additive. I tried attaching it to the 3/4" valve (instead of the coupler) with teflon tape - it was leaking. I was lucky enough to have a couple of 1/2" swivel adapters to try with the adapter kit that came with them and they fit perfectly (I also tried a regular 1/2" NTP connector but that had no thread either). I somehow managed to lose one of…

This is a cute little stainless steel circulator

What makes this pump special: This is a cute little stainless steel circulator. I have no quality problems and the pump works as described. The pump has a selector switch set to AUTO and according to the manual it is designed to turn on the pump when you turn on the tap. I assume that among other things you can use it if you have a gravity water system and need to increase the water pressure. I just keep it in the HAND model. Helpfully, you also have three speeds to choose from. The pump has…

Use as the main circulation pump for underfloor heating.

First view when the system just started up 15m ago. The pump expresses 1.7 gallons per minute though my Takagi water heater. Pumps 110F of water into the system, the pump reads 125F so 15F warmer than the system, hope it's ok, asked a question on the product page. I bought some PEX swivel fittings for the installation and used a 3/4" pipe stand to wall mount the pump for now. It's a bit noisy now but I'm just trying to get the system working, the oven is hot and will worry about the noise…

Good value for money but thread is not NPT

As you can see from the gauges it does what it says it does and gives me +14psi from 34 to 48psi. It's just what I need for my two showers two floors up when my kids are home. There was no way to reduce the flow from 1" and 3/4" to 1/2" with the included adapters, so I tried connecting a 3/4" NPT coupling as the spec said that the pump body thread was 3/2". 4" NPT. The threads on this pump are not tapered but NPT. NPT has male and female tapered threads sealed with Teflon tape or sealant. The…

Long waits for hot water

My water heater is about 100 feet from the kitchen sink where the pipe goes, so it takes a few minutes to get hot water to the sink. The home reenactor already had most of the hardware, copper tubing and fittings, a check valve and an Aquastad thermostatic regulator. Therefore, I decided to use this pump to assemble a pumping system for hot water. I use an outlet to clean dirt and leave the switch in the "on" position. Then we added Smartplug, which turns on garbage disposal by voice command…
