I think most people who wrote positive reviews didn't get the 1/4" bit and tried using it with a drill press. It seems to me that this bit is not for a drill. See how thick the edge is - when it wears down you sink because there is too much surface area to cut anything. That happened to me. Thinner, I think it would be better. After about 20 holes, each hole took 10 minutes and the glass started cracking. Not sure if this is the best solution - maybe cheap disposable bits are just better asβ¦

Vacuum brazed diamond grit cuts faster and lasts longer
Had to drill some holes in my shower screen for a grab bar. My tile is a very hard shiny porcelain and I went through a couple of carbide bits with only one hole. This diamond drill did the trick and I was able to drill five more holes with no problem. There are a few things to keep in mind when using bits of this type that will give excellent results. Since it looks more like a hole saw, you should start drilling at a 45-degree angle. If you started with the round groove, you can continue with
To be honest, the high density porcelain tile I chose for this project was rough. It was very finicky if you don't cut it perfectly and prone to chipping. I was concerned about the aggressiveness of the saw, but Revain sells them elsewhere for half the price, so I decided to take a chance. If you look at the close-up photo I have to say I'm more than impressed and if you follow the instructions (low speed and water) there is virtually no chipping. MARVELOUS! Now for 4-star ease of use.
