For drilling 2" pine is great as other reviewers say, but I got it for drilling 12" deep holes in maple stump. I've used a shovel before, but it dulled quickly on maple and wouldn't pull chips out of a deep hole. I tried this drill with a heavy duty 7 amp Porter corded hammer drill on a 0-1100 RPM gearbox, but the threaded tip pulled the drill back so quickly the motor stalled. This bit has MAX RPM 600 printed on it so it's supposed to spin slowly, but it requires a very high torque, low RPM…
