I've only had them a week so can't comment on durability. Make sure you have a broom or something else to support the hatch as a spring isn't enough to hold it open and it's heavy!

I found the cylinder and strut assembly to be too long for my 2007 Prius - 1/2 inch longer than stock. But it runs like new, with the breakpoint at the right point in the lift cycle preventing the tailgate from slamming shut. Ease of installation. Great deal if they keep going. It took my friend next door 5 minutes to install. He said they lack some kind of *ball gizmo* (that's not really his word lol) but they don't always come with them and mine was fine with the ones they already had. If I open them now, I definitely have to make sure that my head is tilted back, otherwise I'll get hit on the chin and not on the top of my head 🤣 Works great!

The tailgate gas struts deteriorate over time and the tailgate becomes increasingly difficult to open until you break the handle by pushing it. Yes, that was the case with my old Prius as well. The good news is that these BOXI stands are very easy to install and work very well. I chose these lift brackets because after reading a lot of reviews they stood out because they didn't "bounce" at the top end of travel when the sunroof was fully open. Well they do. I feel like I have to slow them down at the end to prevent rebound. However, I suspect each new lifter support will yield a bit, so no standout deductions.
