It's always best to read these product reviews from the right perspective. I replaced the stock jack legs on my 2011 Kia Sorrento with these. So the old ones had to be replaced after 7 years. When first installed these new ones are great, but will they stand the test of time? This review cannot answer that question. Installation was pretty easy, I braced the tailgate with a 2X4 so didn't need any help. So far, so good.

Bought these for a 2012 Kia Sorento (thankfully it hasn't caught fire yet) and installed them in minutes. Very easy installation. The difference between these and the old ones was day and night. They raise the sunroof slightly, allowing it to open fully. I had to raise the hatch with the old ones. They are so strong that I have to be sure not to get in the way of the opening hatch! Because they are so strong, they also need some muscle to close. Great product at a great price.

At the moment they are 5 stars. They are exactly the same as on my 2012 Kia. I'm not sure which came first, the chicken (Kia) or the egg (clip maker), but whoever designed the metal clips makes it very easy to take off the old ones and put on the new ones. Remove the clips from the old one and it all comes off instantly, but leave the clips on the new one because they just snap into place. It is very easy to install. Literally 3 minutes total. This is good if you plan to unload the car soon, otherwise do yourself a favor and buy a higher quality. After installation, they work like new, but they have to be installed again first. The clips that came with it weren't spring steel, as expected, but rather flimsy, untempered metal. I ended up using clips from the original old struts that came with the car. The clips that arrived failed when you put them on the round tips. They warped and then didn't stay in place, allowing the post to slip

Fits 2012 Kia Sorento SX and probably other non powered tailgates too. IMPORTANT - Do not loosen the screws from the vehicle's adapter plates!
