After doing a lot of research and watching people adapt their safes to other gas mounts I stumbled upon this one and decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did did did! It is the perfect replacement for the Sentry biometric pistol safe. Fully opens the safe again! And you get an extra one for later.

These spacers are the perfect replacement for the ones that came with my Sentry Quick Access Gun Safe. The racks that originally came with my gun cabinet began to fail after three years. The original frames were ready when he was four years old. Just remember to unscrew the end caps from your original posts and attach them to the new ones.

This worked great as a replacement for my SentrySafe quick access spacer that was no longer able to lift the safe lid. You will need to remove both of the ball joints that came with this post and use the two ends that connected to the original post. There are a few good YouTube videos to walk you through the installation process and save you time.

Wanted to buy a brand new safe as the gas rack matched my old $245 gun safe. So before I pulled the trigger I checked and couldn't find a replacement and bought this one. It took just over 10 minutes to install and, as mentioned, is a bit stiffer than the original, but now the safe opens with confidence. No problem, and I saved about $220 doing it.

Very good gas strut. Too powerful to substitute in a Sentry Pistol Safe. The safe will not open when combinations are entered, even with new batteries. So I tried the next size up from this one which weighs 18 pounds. They are only 7" long instead of 7 1/2". . Half inch differential. enlarged and the safe lid only opens 2/3, making access difficult. I think I might try auto parts. If anyone has a solution, I'd love to hear it!

The BOXI is a better (or should I say almost perfect) size than the Apexstone and allows the safe to be opened to the full extent. I'm so glad the top stone was only 7 inches back as it made opening conditions worse which was very annoying. Get BOXI and you won't regret it. Now my safe is working again and I hope this shelf will last longer than the original that came with the safe. In any case, I now have an extra BOXI to replace in the future. First you need to unscrew the top and bottom parts and use the original parts on the Senty Safe. Otherwise it will bang and not close properly. The second issue I encountered was using the buttons on the safe. The stand is too strong and causes sticking when the buttons are pressed. I really hope it wears out after a little use. I ordered this to replace a worn frame on my SentrySafe (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A75EVJO). It was a very quick installation - all I had to do was unscrew the ends of the included post (on the right in the photo), unscrew my existing post and then screw in the new one.
