This unit will not work alone

This charge hose is designed for older refrigerant cylinders. The new canisters sold are self-sealing, which means that even though the needle pierces the top of the canister, the canister will reseal when you pull it back. You will also need to purchase an R134A charge hose adapter.

Pros
  • Outstanding design
Cons
  • There are new competitors

Revitalizing an old fridge

Used to fill my old Samsung fridge with freon that is no longer cooling. I took a can of O-Reilly 134A and installed a valve on the suction side. There are many videos on YouTube of this process which made it very easy. My fridge/freezer has been working ever since. I added some JB welding like one reviewer did for extra strength.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Reliability

ok if you change for tools and equipment

The piercing tube is COMPLETELY UNUSEABLE on new cans. I had a set of flow meters, I had to use a hose and a can adapter. The faucet valve worked fine but the hose was useless. This is the old guy who has to pierce the glass. All 134a canisters are made differently these days so you can take a hose from them and not lose your freon. The hole is built into the can like an aerosol can.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons

worked really well!

Was very easy to use and saved me hundreds of service calls. In fact, I couldn't even get a mechanic to look at my little wine storage cabinets that were built without charging ports. So there is nothing left but to do it yourself. The second block used a true bullet valve. The Bullet brand has a full seal, no small o-ring on this one. This one seemed to snap firmly in place, but there was a slight play that would have leaked out a little if only pushed that way. could totally be my technique…

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • I'll write back later
