It works well and saves you a lot of time. Sometimes the old tape comes off very easily, and this tool is not even needed, but when it is needed, it is much more effective than tearing with your fingers piece by piece. It is best to put some mineral water on the band.

Why is this product made from a material that needs to be sharpened with a belt sander? If you don't have a belt sander that fits at the right angle, you're out of luck. Of course, you don't need a vise to scrape the tape off, but you will definitely need one to retighten the clubs. I won't buy this again.

I've been bugging clubs for a while. I've seen it and dared it. To be honest it does a terrible job removing the tape. The tool is made of wood and dulls quickly. I think the one I got was boring when I got it. Used it on a racquet then went back to manually removing the tape.

This worked very well. This was my first time applying pens and this tool made it pretty easy to peel off the tape. I first heated the old tape with a hair dryer and then used the slime to wash off the residue. I really wish this tool was a little sharper, but it was efficient and did what it was supposed to do.

However, it wears out from friction, maybe because of the material so as not to scratch or because it's designed to (like a pencil). So, after 5 pulls I noticed that the tape wouldn't come loose, I took the sharpening tool and put it back in the right position. It really doesn't help much for an old tape. On a newer, newer band, this works just fine. First, fresh tape can usually be removed by hand (at least that was the case when I first rewired my Ping G400 bats). This was helpful in several places. Second, the inner diameter of the tool's "cutting edge" is larger than the outer diameter of the shank - so better than a straight blade, but not by much. Finally, I appreciate the fact that this material doesn't damage my graphite rods.

Not sure how long it will last before considering sharpening it. A tip is to hit the tape with a butane gas flame before breaking it to loosen the glue. It's not perfect, but it's a heck of a lot better than using your fingers to pull the tape off. Some elbow grease is required to remove the stuck tape, but this cuts the time to a fraction of what would normally be required. In some cases, it removes all of the tape but leaves a sticky adhesive.
