Faulty lock in keyed padlocks

The lock on the storage unit used once. Luckily it opened and I went back to open the vault because I never managed to get the key out of the lock. Also, the bolt just folds back and into the fourth. Something was wrong. I've seen other reviews with the same issue, but figured out what the odds are I'll get a bad one. Apparently good. Spend another three dollars and get the Master Lock version.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Doesn't open best in keyed padlocks

The lock seems very strong but when I used it on the shed it wouldn't open. I figured it might be the heat so I just used a different lock but left it hanging on the doorknob which was locked with the key and it opened every time I tried over the next few weeks. I switched back to it, but the next time I tried to open the shed it got stuck again. I was afraid of breaking the key, but the next day I tried again and managed to open it with difficulty. Not having access to my gear was very…

Brinks name on questionable lock defective lock

The lock is not Brinks - only has a name. Couldn't open AFTER putting the latch on the locker. The Brinks have been very helpful by directing me to other resources. Yes, the security was so good that even the key that was sent could not be opened. Finally after sitting with a greased lock for a week I was able to open it. So 5* for safety, 0* for overall performance. In the meantime, Brinks is sending a replacement lock (still made by another company). Apparently the company that made the…

Bought to protect the container when moving, OK >

I will be moving to a new house so my PODS container needed a disc lock. I have this Brinks lock which has a nice rubber coating to prevent scratches and is easy to open and close. But when you pick it up, it just feels light and not good. With thousands of dollars worth of stuff in my PODS, I bought an ABUS Disc Lock right after. Full metal body and significantly more durable. This Brinks lock is suitable for light use and protection of small items, but I don't think it will last long on a…

Not for the goal. Learned from my own bitter experience.

I only gave this one star because for dummies like me the manufacturer should clearly state on the packaging that this lock should not be used on the GATE chain link I thought that the round lock wouldn't be that easy to drill and I wanted a big one. I barely squeezed this huge thing through the hole in the gate but it passed! But then yes! how to unlock it As you probably all already know, this is impossible! I've tried and tried to turn this key but no way. And after trying needle nose pliers

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • I will add later

Bought three. One of them got stuck on the first try.

I bought them for a trailer. I have three. One of these got stuck on first use and I thought I'd have to cut it off! I forced it open and sprayed some WD-40 Dry Lube in. Now it works perfectly but I will send it back. I wouldn't even try to oil it and use it unless I REALLY need it at the moment. They are a lot lighter than I thought and the quality just isn't that good. They just don't look very strong. I'm not a professional lockpicker or thief, but I bet I could cut it off very easily. I do…

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Beautiful castle. in hardware

Used on a trailer. Be careful as the tube of this lock is wider than the usual ones. This is great for added security but does not fit all lock holes and in some cases will not fit in the hole due to its position. Please consider this before purchasing. It didn't fit the U-Haul trailer I originally assembled, but U-Haul was able to replace the trailer with another on the spot when I brought the padlock in to check. It will fit some U-Box locks (newer) but not others because the hole in the…
