I just received a label printer to replace my old QL-720 which was very difficult to set up. The new 820 is a welcome addition. I configure WiFi manually, there are no problems. I even turned on bluetooth for my phone to connect to. No paperwork required! I downloaded the Brother iPrint/Label app for my iPad and Android phone from the app stores. I was able to print labels over WiFi and Bluetooth with no problems. I haven't tried my computer yet, but I assume it works fine with the P-touch…

Stiff piece of shit

The printer recognizes the type of label inserted. If you try to print on a different paper size, a printer error occurs. So if the printer knows it has 1.1 x 3.5 inch labels loaded and you try to print 1.1 x 3.0 inches, you will get an error message and have to physically go to the printer and reset it. So if you thought you bought continuous labels so they could be cut to the paper size you set, you're wrong! This is the size defined by the printer and nothing else. Worse, at one point my…

Good label maker for small chain stores and works with recipe labels.

So far this is working fine for my small office. I installed it on our network and I'm happy to report that it was pretty easy if you have some experience with setting up static IPs and installing drivers and programs on multiple computers. For some reason all the label printers I've used are harder to set up online than regular printers, but this one was much easier than a Zebra printer and stays connected unlike a Dymo printer. Yes, I am using my third label printer due to network connection…

Good printer but bad software

We have 8 of these printers (QL-720NW) for printing product labels and shipping labels. The printers work perfectly on both XP and Win7. However, there are a few things to consider. 1) When you print to a printer with incorrect label setting (the printer is set for 1.1" labels and you are printing a 3.5" label), the printer turns off (red power light). So pay attention to your printer settings. All you have to do is press the power button to reset the printer. Remember that the printer knows…

After spending most of the day trying to get this thing.

After spending most of the day trying to get this thing to work I give up and it comes back. Background: I have a Brother QL-570 printer but I wanted something wireless to keep it in stock. I used DK-2205 labels which should be compatible with this printer. They work great in the QL-570. In any case, after tweaking everything and adjusting the settings in Windows to match the label roll I was using, I kept getting the wrong roll size error. I called Brother Technical Support and they got me to…

Good printer - bad software

I find these label printers a bit overkill for me, I use them a few times a month at home and not in a professional environment. It is therefore very important for me to be able to quickly enter and print out the address. This Brother printer seems like good hardware, the Wi-Fi setup was easy and it's interesting to plug in a battery and be truly wireless. But the P Touch software (on Mac) doesn't really help the user, it seems a bit outdated. First of all, I want to print mailing labels, but…

Incredibly fast and cheap!

I bought this printer for home use having previously had 2 cheaper label printers. I love it. This is the best label printer I have ever used. Worth the price. I share it with multiple Windows computers on my network. It works either as a network printer or as a standalone computer. I haven't tried to get it to work on Linux or iMac. I haven't checked if drivers are available. Since I mostly use a computer with Win7. Changing label size and type is quick and easy, and printing is lightning…
