Works Perfect for programming my BaoFeng and Midland radios

Programmed 2 BaoFeng UV-5Rs and 4 BF-888Ss with CHIRP. Went like clockwork. We've also been able to reprogram channels on some older Midland radios where we only use one channel. Sometimes when used in the field the channel selector would collide or move and the radio was on the wrong frequency so you just programmed all the channels to the same frequency. Those old radios have no way of blocking them on a channel. Used a Windows desktop computer with Windows 7 Pro and had no problems. The…

True FTDI chip, plug and play on Windows 7, works fine with CHIRP

I have a couple of UV-5R radios that I want to program so they all have one have general configuration. Some radio settings (e.g. changing the startup message to display custom text, naming saved memory channels) are only available with computer programming, while other radio settings (e.g. memory channel setup, CTCSS/DCS noise reduction settings, power supply, etc.) are possible via the wireless keyboard, but very difficult. With this cable, everything is very simple: it plugs and play into…

Finally working on reprogramming the frequencies on the Baofeng UV-5R

This USB to Mic/Headphone Cable allows your CHIRP desktop computer to communicate with your Baofeng UV-5R allowing you to upload/download , enter, rearrange or edit the frequencies and other features of the UV-5R (e.g. screen colors, notification sounds, etc.). I used a cable to match my UV-5R's frequency list to the existing list that came with my RDM-DB RZR Rugged radio. To find a list of frequencies used by RDM-DB, search "Setup for Rugged Radio RDM-DB Radio". This list can then be entered…

Really plug and play, great customer service.

I bought one of the cheap fakes first because I am CHEAP. Big mistake. One came with a broken USB connector housing. Chirp recognized it, but when I tried to load my configuration, my antenna got so hot (set on a garbage road) that it burned my fingers. I'm glad it didn't damage my radio or computer. I sent this back and ordered this from BTECH. It came and it wasn't the one, it had one plug instead of two. Make sure I order the correct one for my UV-5R (I did) and then contact BTECH through…

Works great. I followed a link from btech's official website (Baofeng's official US distributor) to this Revain page. I've heard that Revain has fake cables that don't work(?) but I've had no problems with this cable. I've used it quite a bit to retune my own Baofeng's and my father's and uncle's Baofeng's radios (so far I've made three BF-F8HP, GT-3TP, UV-82HP and UV-5R). I use the free software Chirp (Google) and RFinder WebSearch ("RFinder Worldwide Repeater Directory Web - Location Search",

Take this cable, you will like it very much.

This cable uses FTDI chip, very reliable, never let me down. I originally bought a cheaper Baofeng programming cable that uses a Prolific chip. It locked my computer and never worked. Spend a little more on a cable and get this VERY good FTDI Programming USB Cable. I used it with the CHIRP software to program 4 radios in about 1 hour. The first 45 minutes was spent configuring CHIRP and the rest of the time just uploading data to the radios. PS: This also works on tri-band Btech radio, although

Works well but was a bit fiddly.

The cable works fine. I used it to program my two BaoFeng UV-82HP several times. I'm not giving five stars for two reasons: 1. The addendum states that you don't need to download drivers in Windows 7. Not at all. Windows 7 does not have drivers for the chipset in this cable. So I had to download and install the drivers. That wasn't a problem for me, but it should have been mentioned in the description. I think it would be more correct to say that you will never need any drivers other than…
