Best unit for the money!

I've owned a few of these things, and this one has the best power and most solid construction. The aluminum tables aren't any better than others at this price point, but it's very easy to improve on those. This one includes the steel stop bar to replace the table on the belt side, which is better if you prefer to use it in the horizontal position. With a small machinist's square, you can fiddle with the table on the disc side to get it square to the platen. I just leave it squared up (90…

Pros
  • Provides a professional finish on a range of materials
Cons
  • The machine can be quite finicky to set up correctly, which might be a hassle for some users

Excellent at this price

This sander is a miracle. Don't know how they can sell it at this price. The cost of manufacturing must be $5 or less. I also don't get these reviewers who pay $200 but expect a $2000 machine. This little sander is a knockoff of an old design Every company sells something like that. The bad: you get what you pay. Its flimsy and made from funny materials. The so called workbench is more suitable for a dollhouse. Replacing the sanding belt is a chore. The good: It works!Bottom line: cant be beat at…

Pros
  • Easy belt release for fast belt changes
Cons
  • The dust collection port is quite small, which means that it might not be very effective at capturing all of the dust

Works great for me.

It was easy to assemble and easy to change the belt. Some reviewers complained about the tool rests being off several degrees but mine was right on when set at zero. Yeah it’s made of aluminum and plastic but the belt tracks straight and it has plenty of power so I’m happy with it.

Pros
  • Power Tools
Cons
  • The sanding disc doesn't come with a protective cover, which means that you'll need to be careful not to accidentally touch the spinning disc with your fingers

Good Product for my opinion

I am very happy with this bench sander. That's my feedback. I use the belt much more then the disk and have only used the sander for

Pros
  • Allows for efficient sanding of various materials
Cons
  • The dust collection system is not very effective at capturing all of the dust, which means that you might need to wear a mask or goggles when using the machine

Good unit . - my new review

The first one of these I purchased( craftsman ) had a plastic gear drive, that eventually wore out . This unit is slightly bigger therefore storage cabinet had to be readjusted. It’s direct drive so it should hold up better . It’s sold under a lot of different brand names . And about $100 cheaper than my local box store .

Pros
  • Offers consistent and smooth sanding results
Cons
  • The sanding belt can create a lot of heat, which means that you'll need to be careful not to burn your workpiece or the machine itself

Very good value for my opinion

The direct drive is a real bonus. This gets more usable power belt and disc. The price is right for the value of the product. Very simple to assemble and has plenty of power for woodworking and even light metal work.

Pros
  • Comes with two dust ports for enhanced dust collection
Cons
  • The belt and disc sanders are not very powerful, which means that it might take longer to sand your workpiece than with other products

works great good for me

has the power to sand with out any effort. i do change the belt to keep it fresh. dust collection is not great when connected to the shop-vac, but they never are.thinking of getting another so i don't have to change belts so can have a fine grit and a course grit station.

Pros
  • Durable construction with rugged materials
Cons
  • The sanding belt can create a lot of dust, which means that you'll need to be prepared for some cleanup after using the machine
